In the rule book the ammo and fuel trailers are towed by separate steamers, not attached to a member of the unit of tanks or mobile artillery. Over the weekend I was wondering if attaching a trailer to an element of a tank or mobile artillery unit would be allowed to give the same benefits to the unit as a separate trailer towing unit being attached to it. I could see that working for a Mk IV which presumably would have enough power to tow a trailer without loss of speed but doubt that would be OK for a Mk II or III steamer.
On reading the rules more closely there's reference to ammo trailer towing supply steamers being associated with non-mobile artillery units, and it was supposedly mentioned earlier in the rules before the section on supply steamers. However, it looks like the writers forgot to include that in the artillery rules! Supply steamers with ammo trailers do appear with artillery units in the US force diagram though the rules to include them are missing.

Yes, you are correct. Frankly, I can't see why the MA units won't carry their own ammo along and maybe even have a separate ammo transport as well. In any case, I only suggest using the trailers as a more $ effective method. Note that even flivvers could tow an ammo trailer, although they'd be really vulnerable and slow over terrain - but, in support of a 'behind the lines' battery, you could shave some points off a unit. Battery of MkIIMA @220 + Flivver (single)@5 + Ammo Cart @30 = 255 points for that added firepower. This assumes the battery is posted just off a road in entrenchments or even in the open. A single Forward Observer (@10 points attached to infantry squad) would really cause problems for the Martians until they could get within heat ray or spotting distance for a Grenadier counter.

1) The top pieces on mine are too wide to fit between the tracks and need to have at least 0.5mm filed off each side, up to just above track level. 2) The gun mounts when glued to the barrel are slightly wider than the base that assembly needs to be glued to. Because the mounting pieces are narrow there's not much contact with the base so I widened the base with strips of styrene. Yes all of this. For me the gun barrel and assembly were the biggest pain. I tried several ways of putting it together and nothing really made a difference, it was always fiddly and delicate. I dread the day I drop one!!

Hey bilko991 ref your "I probably won't do any more of these. I had a hell of a time putting them together and I just don't like them. I mean they look nice but I don't like them knowing how much trouble they were. " Try the resin case Conqueror mobile artillery figures. Price is competitive and they can either be used as 6" per the rule book or my alternative 8" rules (per Conqueror and my TO&E for their figures). No difficult assembly required and for a small addition you can put an ammo trailer on one for that all important additional firepower. Hey madmorgan, I'm pretty you've mentioned the Conqueror tanks to me in the past. I've checked them out and they do look excellent. I'll probably use them instead of the official ones in the future. Thanks for the tip! At least these ones are nearly done now!!
