I have been through a Kansas twister. A Cat. 5 hurricane was a comparative cakewalk. It's got me wondering if a Tripod could be discombobulated by a strong wind? I'm sure the Tripods would be ok, remember Mars has some wind storms that make our strongest storms look like a slight breeze. their lack of atmosphere or such lets storms blow with no resistance whatsoever.

I was wondering if Ironclad will be coming out with any more US special units such as "SGT's Ashley's Golden Eagles and the US Marines? I was a former US Special Forces trooper and love special units. Reading Scott Washburn's books makes me think that a "Female Sniper" unit might soon be in the offing. I would love to see an infantry packed weapon that can take on a tripod for the infantry seemed to get, and excuse the pun, burned in most of the games I have seen. I would love to see a man packed weapon such as a bazooka or recoiless rifle using shaped charges get added to the mix to give the infantry a chance. Your thoughts and imput? Just think of it with "Hunter Killer" teams lurking on the board giving those tripods a what for! Sounds like a good idea. Would love to see a female sniper unit Colonel Oakley's tan skirt brigade

Well Just because it is in Scott's books does not mean they will do it, he is an independent author who pretty much does his own thing.

Evolving? Hardly. Read the story carefully. Their medical staff have developed vaccines that delay -not stop- the progress of terrestrial infections. True development of resistance takes millennia, otherwise we would be resistant to anthrax, plague, whooping cough, measles, smallpox, diphtheria... even after 5,000+ years of recorded history. Nobody (or creature) evolves resistance to the chemical burns from the mustards. Nobody evolves resistance to lung damage from phosgene or chlorine. Nobody evolves resistance to cellular suffocation from blood agents. These are attacks on the basic structures and processes of living things. and yet the Martians managed to get immunity from the bacteria that killed them last time in a couple of their generations or a few of our years.

There is a major problem for them: The asexual reproduction of budding makes genetic diversity and mixing, which can accelerate adaptation, impossible since each line of descendents must develop the adaptation independently. A favorable mutation that enhances survival will not be transferred to another line. Problem with that is the Book even states the Martians are adapting to our climate and such more with each generation, so that just shot your theory out the door, furthermore we do not know if they are sexual or asexual and you keep associating their biology with ours, they are of not this planet so their biology is different then ours and unknown at this time, furthermore Guess you never heard of Super bug Infections like in Hospitals, where asexual germs evolved with a super germ strain?

I have used AQMF Martian stuff in generic sci-fi games like Rampant Stars, Tomorrow's War, etc. Here is some Martian Tripods vs. GW Space Marines in Rampant Stars... Video or picture does not show

ADMIN : Alien Dungeon are gone. We have a new owner that is keeping the game going so lets leave it at that please. Yes a new owner, but one that could have done more to engender good will to those who got screwed over since they were the ones that helped to make the game a reality. instead the new owner uses molds and designs and game mechanics paid for by backers and pre-orders and such that ended up getting screwed over.

Ironclad Games has shown a lot of good judgement and good ethics and it has taken them a long time to overcome the damage done by Alien Dungeon. Folks are still reluctant to include AQMF stuff. Yeah but it might have helped them more if they did something like the people who bought the rights to "The Doom That Came to Atlantic City" did by honoring all of the Kickstarter and ordered product owed and such. so they did not really do much damage control per se, since all those people who already had ordered the stuff, never got it and now being told they have to buy it again if they want it, you can see how that might hurt business.

There was a big kerfuffle about Alien Dungeon not meeting its Kickstarter obligations. Then there were rumors of a money laundering scheme using eBay. I know Alien Dungeon screwed me and then I got a nice legal letter saying sorry but they filed bankruptcy and you are screwed.

War of the World's: Goliath is something I have wanted to see, along with "The Great War Against the Martians." So far I have had no joy finding either. I think the major source of inspiration for the Game is HG Wells. The original fluff and Scott's books do not take Goliath into account. Speaking of Goliath, when do they come out? Well the thing about War of the Worlds: Goliath is it takes place in North America, but instead of steam tanks we have walkers. and flyers on both sides exists and we managed to salvage weapon design types from the last invasion.

Using gas on the Martins would be difficult. Tripods are both tall and fast. Hard target's for gas. Gas can come back at you if the wind changes. The Martians seem unconcerned about this happening to them. If humans have tried gas against the Martians, the instances have been anecdotal. In game turns, two sides with gas weapons makes for a table crowded with gas clouds. I doubt this will add to the appeal of the game. I'll shot 'em. If that doesn't work, I'll shoot 'em twice. I say call in the Ewoks

Ok well a couple questions got answered for me last night, I was always wondering why I don't usually see AQotMF listed on eBay and while I do it is not a lot, well think it got answered by someone I know it seems other people use the steam tanks and infantry and such for games other then AQotMF.
