you do realize those nameless eBay sellers also support the guys who brought the game back? in fact if those nameless guys do not sell their inventory then they will no longer support those guys who brought the game back and i'm sure they do more supporting then you do. Must be nice to no so much with so little information. As a small business owner I know how hard it is to make a go of it. I'll continue to support ICG as much as I can. And yet you diss those who also support the company, while also trying to run their own small business, ironic much ? Also I know much more then you would realize.

I'd rather support the guys who brought AQMF back from the grave than some nameless EBay seller. you do realize those nameless eBay sellers also support the guys who brought the game back? in fact if those nameless guys do not sell their inventory then they will no longer support those guys who brought the game back and i'm sure they do more supporting then you do.

Scott Washburn's Paper Terrain has city walls specifically for AQMF. Seen his stuff, didn't like the prices, have found other sites where I can print up such things for free or really cheap. Either that or make my own to print up

There will always be an issue keeping enough Martians alive to perform useful tests. I imagine from the martian point of view, this is an eternity. The problem is, is catching a live Martian, the book makes note that only one live martian has ever been caught and he died shortly after from the tests and its injuries, the book makes it out that without the tripod martians will not survive.

Either way, every kit has a lot of potential for use of most of its parts one way or another. The pool of folks on this forum are sure to find more over time. It is hard to justify buying a kit for a few parts. Using what I have is another matter. Scott's paper bunkers look good. His paper trenches are great. Thats the thing, if you make yourself a mark II steamer tank, then you have extra pieces left over to make wall turrets and such.

Problem is capturing a live Martian is easier said then done, they once had a live martian and while much was gained, not enough was gained. Well if it was easy it wouldn't be a very fun scenario now would it. Well its not a matter of catching them, its a matter of keeping them alive, they don't do so well when captured and usually die afterward from various issues so keeping them alive for "testing" of chemicals and such is not an option at this time. or more technically their time.

Sounds like a mission to capture a live Martian is called for! A little gas experimentation and a whole new type of attack is available for holdfasts. I heartily agree that any other targets would be a waste of time - both due to the speed of tripods and the sealed nature they present. Problem is capturing a live Martian is easier said then done, they once had a live martian and while much was gained, not enough was gained.

I went on the Ironclad Games AQMF site and was happily surprised to see AQMF minies are on sale. I still wish they sold "Routed" markers separately. My original set did not include them and the prey creatures frequently try to run away. saw those prices still cheaper on eBay.

It was once suggested that Alien Dungeon sell the sprues that had the "casement" that made a MkIII different from a MkII. These make excellent static defences. That's what i'm gonna do for my Wall.

I agree, mostly. I try to stick to the Percival Lowell view of Mars, but my view is tainted by being a 21st century person. I'm still thinking the Martians first encounter with a Texas Twister or a Kansas Cyclone is going to be Face Plant City (and Your Little Dog, Too Dearie). Well, As I recall from the last snippet and such, the latest Novel is close to distribution, then we'll know. I'm More Curious how they would deal with an Electrical Storm.

Ours will have a bigger "footprint" than an assault tripod, but will not be that much more bulkier. My design I was working on was about twice the size of an Assault Tripod and a bit longer with 4 clawed tentacles in the "elongated" back and 2 in front.

Actually they have mass with the dust they carry with them which is nasty stuff, imagine being in a wind tunnel with millions of tiny particles of glass blowing about you. I'm not trying to be snarky, here, but I have been in dust storms as well as heavy currents of water. Martian Atmo to Earth Atmo is not quite as severe as Earth Atmo to water, but it's close. Dust in the air is very nasty. I had to replace my goggles, the dust had destroyed the seals and scored the viewplate so badly it was trashed. But apart from the sandblasting effect, the wind was no more effective moving heavy objects than it would be without the dust. Sand will scour a wall, but an earth wind might push over a wall, while a Martian wind won't. Martian holdfasts have domes. This is probably the best solution to scouring winds, and it will minimise wind damage of the buildings. The first time Marvin and company get hit by by an earth storm, they'll never know what hit 'em. It will be faceplant city. Problem is you keep comparing Mars to Earth, while we have a good understanding of Mars now, we still have no clue what it is like in the games reality, as far as we know in the games reality a dust devil there could be like a tornado here, since in our reality the Martian equipment would not even be able to function half as well as it does in the Games reality. and considering they have been in some nasty high wind areas for years, me thinks they can deal with a tornado or two.

Is the little drone size tripod the constructor that is coming out this month? The constructor engine is a huge type of tripod between the size of an assault tripod and the overseer.

Martian winds are high velocity but have no mass to make them truly destructive. A 5 mph current in water will take me off my feet. A 50 mph wind will slow me down, but I have walked through such. One of "Q"s minions may find out it's not in Kansas any more. Actually they have mass with the dust they carry with them which is nasty stuff, imagine being in a wind tunnel with millions of tiny particles of glass blowing about you.
