Hey Everyone, I wanted to show off the WIP Founder Tripod that Sean is sculpting. The Founder is going to get some new rules, to make it more useful in regular games (it is going to be a drone controller and be able to generate a few during games).

How big is this thing going to be? It is based on the Mark IV chassis.

Anybody in the mood for a Telepathic Tripod? or Bomb Drone? I consider AQMF to be 15mm because it is easier for me to compute 1:100 scale. Which does not stop me from using minis from other scales. And I promise not to come by with a micrometer to certify that your figures are in scale. I have been considering how to modify a slaver chassis to support six legs versus three. It would also have two large tentacles with interchangeable "tools," a bucket, a spinning disc hammermill, a big drill, a wrecking ball, and a big nasty claw. I believe there is a Martian command tripod that is telepathic, as are the reaper and slaver to a point. Martian effect on morale is significant enough. I suggested "suicide" drones a while ago. Drones had a one-shot attack of explosives for demolition, green gas or black dust. It is possible to attach beads to standard drones to represent "payloads." It is a good idea, or so I thought, and easy to execute as a "home rule." Something like the little fellow with the canister?

In the future these parts may become resin or have resin options included with the kit, so the end user can model them differently. Good fix idea boxholder!

I posted this in the company forums: The Underdwellers were left over from the original company. Those items have been unused since we bought the game and IP. Since we had sculpts and people kept asking for them, we decided to put them out. Their design will keep them as an allied force for Terrans, not their own faction outright. I still want this game to be mostly tanks vs. Tripods, which is why I am very excited for Siege Europa to come out.
The Underdwellers are going to be a small optional detachment that can be taken by human factions. They prefer the enemy they know over the new menace, which has forced them to come out of hiding sooner than they planned. All is not well, but the enemy of enemy and all that.
Their main infantry is a mob of mixed weapons (melee and ranged). The commanders are necessary to increase the effectiveness of both the mobs and the Magma Men. These units can operate on their own, but will get bonuses if near commanders (which makes them obvious targets).

Yes certainly you do not want every tripod to be able to mount these new special weapons. I like the system infinity uses calles Special Weapons Cost... which further restricts special weapons. (In infinity you get 1 swc for every 50 points of models - things like rocket launchers cost 1.5 swc) So you could assign these special weapons an special cost and limit them (by scenario) but perhaps the default is 1 special weapons point allowed per 750 points ... infinity is my favorite game, both for minis and ruleset. I've been playing since the end of first edition. Special Weapon Costs are built into the rules, so it would require a big change to implement. I'm thinking of optional themed lists that both fit the expansion narrative while allowing for different and restricted options.

May I make an iron-on transfer for a Tee-shirt? (One, for me.) Sure. I was actually going to make some shirts for these (convention wear for me and the other gents, most likely).

I've long advocated Gen 2 and even Gen 3 Martian tripods and weapons. This would definitely be a Gen 2 or perhaps even a Gen 3 due to game balance. I would suggest that it be Rare (ei 1 per 2000 points) and require a Scientist tripod to be in the army, staying within 6" of said Rare, to insure proper operation and fine field tuning. The effects of this on the game should not be overlooked - major shift to the Mars favor. Yep. Trying to maintain semblance of balance in the game is what I am juggling at the moment. There will be restrictions on how the new weapon can be taken in Martian Forces.

Morgan, you are assuming that there is a Russian Revolution. But would there be? Unlike in WWI where the Bolsheviks and the masses could rebel against the continuing war against the Central Powers, the war against the Martians would be an entirely different matter. Spoiler: In the narrative for Siege Europa, there is no Revolution.
