I didn't see an answer to an earlier question, but can I use names similar to the ones in the book for the Martian commanders in the next phase of the Vicksburg campaign??

Hey, I made up the Martian names by just stringing together syllables which sounded weird but were (barely) pronounceable. Anyone can do it! It's fun!

Got to get a copy. Checked all the local bookstores and none have it in stock. Going to have to order. Just finished the Terran Consensus. Good read. I got it at local B&N. Don't know why they don't have the Martian invasion novel.

I think that the shipping was delayed for some reason. I haven't even gotten my sample copies yet But a friend did order it from Amazon and he got his copy last week.

Well, I posted my glowing review and I'm sure Amazon is starting to see others, there were at least two more very nice postings. Your batting '5 stars'!

Good Question, but didn't that come along after the initial landings established themselves mikedski? scott?

Mike, The red weed will be mentioned in Book 2. It did develop rather quickly in the original Wells novel, didn't it? But my theory is that being native Martian vegetation it is adapted to the extremely harsh environment there and only grows very slowly. In far more congenial England it grew at a fantastic rate and then sort of grew itself to death and died off. In wintertime New Mexico where my story takes place it also grows slowly so no one has really noticed it yet. The following spring it will start showing up.

Thanks. I am curious to find out if the red weed happens to be a part of the Martians' diabolical plans or just a pest that hitched a ride. (Don't tell me!)

Wahoo the book has landed. Didn't end up getting from amazon as they were messing about getting stock (Which they now have). I'll still write a review on their site though

As I won't be making it to HMGS Cold Wars, I'll be ordering several more from Amazon as presents. Maybe I'll get mine autographed at Historicon this year. Definately ordering Terran .... today as I'm ready for more scott alternative history!
