Since this is Memorial Day weekend in the States, and a Bank Holiday in the UK I am hoping to see a flurry of activity in the WIP and batrep section of these boards.
I am hoping to have the Battle of Acton, but my opponent is not 100% committed yet. Worse, my family hasn't given the green light yet either. Could be a sad day at the easy E household.
How about you?

Still need to finish the artillery observation tower. But hopefully this weekend the weather will get a break from the thunderstorms and tornadoes to complete some spray painting outside.

Did you scratch-build the tower in the rear trench line?

Did you scratch-build the tower in the rear trench line? Nope. A Plastruct pre-made oil well that was an opportunity buy at a model train store. I added la ladder and small cross flats on the way up. Of course topped with the ubiquitous Mark III superstructure.

Unfortunately (or not) I'm at Balticon 50th anniversery convention all weekend - meeting George R.R. Martin up close as Guest of Honor and about four dozen other former year guests of honors as well. Didn't go to the Wall this year, as is my normal activity. Salute to all those veterans out there & the families whose holiday is missing a loved one as well.

Enfilade! convention 2016 Game 1 The Martians are advancing north from Salem Oregon and encounter human defenders. Martians preparing to cross the river. Human left flank and Martians in the distance. Human right flank and Martians in the distance.

Enfilade! convention 2016 Game 1 continued Martian general advance. I didn't get pictures of the middle battle, but the Martians continued to advance. they took some losses, but the humans eventually ran out of room to retreat and the Martians broke the human defense line. Final result; Martian victory. The Martians advance north to the location of the next battle. Humans left on the table were captured and converted to lobototons for the next game.

Enfilade! convention 2016 Game 2 Martians advance to a small town north of Salem. The organizer told us the name of the actual town, but I have forgotten what it was. Martians advance on the town to capture the refugees. They also fire on the bridge doing 4 points of damage out of 5 needed to destroy it. On the other flank the Martians encounter a trap and lose a tripod. A lot of tank firepower faces them.

Enfilade! convention 2016 Game 2 continued Martians converged on the town to capture refugees. The clamper tank missed its first attempt to grab the scout. It succeeded the next turn. The Martians had the initiative this turn and managed to drop the bridge before the tanks could complete their movement across. The tank in the middle of the span was destroyed. The second tank was only partially on the bridge and had to roll for survival. It managed to land on more or less dry ground. Martians on the other flank were taking damage but doing some damage in return.

Enfilade! convention 2016 Game 2 continued In the town an assault tripod collapses. The player had to roll for the direction it fell and it landed on the refugees, squishing them. (sorry about the thumb print. should have cropped it out.) At this point several tripods were down and although the humans were taking damage, the Martian (player) morale broke and the remaining tripods began to retreat. Final result; Human victory. This decided the setup for the final game. If the Martians had won they would advance to the Columbia river and the objective would be to get across. The humans would get some gunboats to fight off the Martians. Since the Humans won the next battle would be held here at (insert town name here) Oregon. Again, humans captured would be converted to lobototons for the next game.

Enfilade! convention 2016 Game 3 Because the humans held the Martians in the previous battle there was time for the land ship to arrive. The organizer used the book value of 750 points for the land ship. We will see how it faired. The Martians do a general advance. The town from the previous battle is now in ruins. To win the humans must get the land ship to the other side of the table. The player decided to push through the small gap between the woods. He is required to roll for getting stuck crossing wooded areas, but succeeds.
