Enfilade! invention 2016 Game 3 continued The land ship continues to move through the gap and has to roll for the second set of treads. Some 60 foot pines break off and get lodged in the treads. The land ship is stuck until it can roll to get free. In the foreground the Martians try to clear the ruins of infantry. The infantry unit seen in the ruins here survived 3 turns of black dust attacks. The land ship was stuck for 5 turns during which the Martians hit it with everything they could. Three tripods that had damage (two with weapon control damage) moved as close to the land ship as they could. The tripods with weapon damage positioned themselves so that if they lost the roll off to fire there would be no Martian targets. Two of them finally exploded but the explosion did no damage to the land ship. In the end the land ship lost 4 armor points, took a boiler hit (half speed) and lost 1 machine gun. It finally broke free of the woods and was half of the rest of the way across the table when the game was called. The Martians had lost most of their tripods and all agreed that at this point there was no stopping the land ship from getting off the board.

Thanks for posting. Like the color scheme on the land ironclad (LIC). I also like the rule of the LIC having the potential of getting stuck in difficult terrain. The LIC does have the equivalent mobility of a Saturn V rocket transporter.

The Town name was Monmouth.
The event organizer had medals to hand out- I got the human service medal in game three thanks to that infantry that was apparently immune to black dust.
I also gave the organizer my email address, so we can add my stuff, and maybe get two tables of Martian Front action!

I could remember it started with 'M' but could not remember the exact town. The medals were a nice touch. I got the Martian Medal of Merit in the 3rd game for my efforts on the Martian left flank.

Heads up IG - medals at major tourney/demos would be a cool advertising tool. Simple 'buttons' with ribbons like at scifi or fantasy events would pin you on the chest of numerous participates. Just a thought.
