What rules do you use for the smoke pots? I thought that was in the House Rules, but it wasn't. It was in MY copy Smoke area. Human defenses can contain areas of canisters designed to throw up a large amount of smoke. Units within the smoke and up to 3 inches behind the smoke are have their defense to heat rays increased by +2. (Grenadier bombardment, Green Gas and Black Dust ignore this effect) Beyond that the Martians elevation allows them to shoot and be shot at normally. Chains. Any Tripod crossing the chain obstacle rolls a d10, on a 1 or 2, they are entangled. The roll to disentangle on subsequent turns is a 4+. While entangled, Tripods cannot move, and have their to hit number reduced to 5+. They may shoot normally. Tower guns. Tower guns have the chain obstacle sited in and get an additional +1 to hit an entangled Tripod (4+ to hit) Tower guns are well camouflaged and cannot be targeted until they first shoot. After which the normal 3+ is required to hit.

The Third Battle of Sheboygan An All Quiet on the Martian Front battle report The ruins of Sheboygan are still held by humanity. But the Martians are on the offensive everywhere. Breaching the Mississippi, pushing into Ontario. Holding Sheboygan is important to keep the Martians from overwhelming the industrial heartland of America. philsmartianfront.blogspot.com/2017/05/the-third-battle-of-sheboygan-part-1.htmlEnjoy

Where does it state that Tripods are immune to Gas and Dust?

The unit was mostly surrounded, but to get around a building in the way would take it within 3" of a Tripod. Destruction occurs instantly when the routers get to 3" of the Martian, not necessarily on the Martian turn.

Regarding the Tripod Weapon Malfunction. When a Tripod is dual armed, can he select which weapon he is using before the rolloff?
Part II, are Tripods even subject to Black Dust and Green Gas?

For 6mm, 2mm. Years ago, someone built a War of the Worlds, where the Martians were all transistors. And there was a cylinder, which was just a painted pill container. It all worked.

This has to do with Routers. The situation is this. There is a unit of routers. when they make a rout move, they will get within 3" of a Tripod and will be destroyed. During the move, the Humans move Patton within Line of Sight first, and implements the Rally rule. And the routers rally. Is timing of the moves up to the players discretion like this? Or is there some sub phase when the Rally rule is implemented?

Thanks for that consideration. It puts a bit of science to something I here-to-fore only thought of as a aesthetics issue.

Red Martians? Marvin is just a normal assault tripod, plus 20 points for "K-9", his drone. His story is from a conversation with my wife. She asked me if I would paint a tripod like Marvin the Martian. My facial expression must of been weird because she thought she offended. I then responded with "How can I NOT paint one like Marvin the Martian." It was only later that Steve Turn pointed out the text on the Red Martian in the rule book.

From my archives for the newbies on the forum. The subject of many campfire stories intended to scare new recruits, and, in fact, judged by most senior command as a myth, the Red Martians do actually exist. How or why the Martians with their cold, purely logical, seeming to lack any sign of emotions, modified this Tripod in this way is unknown. But unlike the Yanks to the south, which has made another horror story out of this peculiarity with disconnected facts, we Canadians have a more reasonable explanation. philsmartianfront.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-red-martian.html

We played "The Cylinder" scenario once. The only armor that has a chance of crossing the berm are the Monotanks, as they move as infantry. I wanted to see how this was handled here, but the humans won by destroying all Martian defenders before assaulting the berm. After that, it was just a photo op for the foot. Nice layout and thanks for taking the time for the presentation. I like your explosion markers too.

The Second Battle of Mullan Pass, Part 2 An All Quiet on the Martian Front battle report Mullan Pass is one of only a handful of passes that is deemed passable by Tripods across the Rocky Mountains. As such, holding them is paramount. Not because of the shipping yards of Tacoma, or the millions of Americans on the west coast, but because if these are cleared, then there are that many more Martians that can be deployed to break the all-important Mississippi line. philsmartianfront.blogspot.com/2017/04/the-second-battle-of-mullan-pass-pt-2.htmlEnjoy

Absent a clarification, I am going to count Industrial Might as part of the army for demoralization level. But they must be successfully brought onto the board. Other "House Rules" The clamp tank does not count as a unit for the purposes of human demoralization.
Units brought back using American Industrial Might count as additional units. Effectively each unit brought back raises the human demoralization level by .5. They must be successfully brought onto the board for this purpose.
The Towering Ruins are passable to human vehicles, at half speed, but remain impassable to Martian Tripods.
Humans in Towering Ruins have their defense against heat rays and shock canisters improved as follows:
Infantry +5/+3, Artillery +4/+2, Vehicles +2/+2
Humans in Towering Ruins have their defense against green gas and black dust improved as follows (wind tunnel effects):
Infantry +2/+2, Artillery +2/+2, Vehicles +1/+1
When in assault combat, the defenders do not get a bonus for terrain advantages for the "to hit" roll, but do get the terrain armor advantage, if any.
Macadam roads give a movement bonus to tripods.
Dirt roads give a movement bonus to humans only.
The cost of a Tesla Gun is reduced to 175 points.
The cost of a Land Ironclad is increased to 1,500 points.

Yes, the Warhammer 40k terrain serves well as ruins.
