Freshly unloaded from in Galveston, the BEF unloads to support American operations of the Southern Command. There were wandering tripods sited and the mission was to engage them. But supply problems occurred, and while the bulk of the American tanks were pulled back to refuel. The BEF, with their radium powered engines, stayed forward and invested a long abandoned mining town. There, they renamed it Piccadilly Gulch, and the town center Trafalgar Bend, and the local church, "Cantebury". Why? Something about it struck their humor. Who can truly understand our cousins across the sea? Defenses fully made, they waited, and in that wait, the Martians attacked. Scott may have borrowed on my work regarding the point cost of the land ironclad. I wrote a combat program that allowed for a flexible number of assault tripods, and iterating through 10000 combats until I straddled the 50% mark. which occurred between 7 and 8 tripods.

I think the promotional piece has a bit of inaccuracy. The super heavy 12" gun needs a combined roll on the damage chart of 9 to destroy a tripod. 10 is required for it to explode.

A bit underwhelming for £60.

An All Quiet on the Martian Front Battlereport Episode V America Strikes Back! It is a dark time for Marvin’s Martians. Although the BEF has been defeated, the American forces have driven the victorious Martians into the Canadian wilderness across Ontario. Evading numerous Steam Tanks, the Martians, now led by Marvin the Martian, have established a new secret hive, in the location of a previous cylinder fall. Where a technical failure caused the death of the cylinder’s occupants, but the on board equipment was left intact. The highly decorated General officer McIntyre, and his aid, Captain Patton, are obsessed with finding and eradicating the last Martians east of the Mississippi, have dispatched thousands of scouts recruited from the native populations of Tuscarora, Mohawk, Oneida and Onondaga Indians. philsmartianfront.blogspot.com/2018/03/episode-v-america-strikes-back.htmlEnjoy

The BEF are GO! A rerun of an All Quiet on the Martian Front After Action Report: The BEF vs. Marvin's Martians. Colonel Jeff Tracy, OBE, KCB, surveyed the redoubt with disgust. The locals had provided pictures of this place, and the practice field that was created to prepare for this fight was no where near as daunting as the sight before him. They spent months preparing for this assault, while waiting the new Akroyd-Stewart Electric Drives for their tanks. The wait was worth it though. The men were confident having assaulted the facsimile Hive Crater over and over, and the new drives gave his tanks a breathtaking speed and power. They should be able to clear the redoubt, if only barely. philsmartianfront.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-bef-are-go.htmlEnjoy

I want to add an observation. Based on the number of attendees on my blog, AQMF seems to be "trending". My battle reports from 2014 and 2015 have about 3-400 hits initially, with reruns now hitting 700. My newest battle report, "Baited Trap, The Battle For Waukegan, Illinois" written earlier this year has 1,100 hits, and my introduction to the "Canadian Land Monitor", has 700 after only 3 days. However you look at it, there seems to be a lot more interest in H.G. Well's Martians right now.

Thank you both. My goal here was to provide a cool looking figure to the battle field that wasn't really overpowered. I had 3 of these beasties in my basement for another game system. I have to say their first outing (The Battle for Bruce Mines, currently being written) wasn't that impressive.

A new unit in the fight against the Martians. Canada does not have the industry that the Americans do, but they do have ingenuity. Having acquired a number of British made, “Protected Cruisers”, 2nd class, HMVS Naiad, HMVS Scylla, and HMVS Satona, they managed to convert a number of them into Land Monitors, in imitation of the Land Ironclads of the Americans. philsmartianfront.blogspot.com/2018/03/canadian-land-monitor.htmlEnjoy

How did you do such neat lettering? Are you that good with a paint brush, or is it a stencil or decal?
