What's the story on the mat?

The mat is being made by friend Alex's company, Mats by Mars. I wanted him to make me a map of Art Hill, where the statue of St. Louis is located, for a custom scenario. I hope to be able to sell it and the statue soon. Along with a more generic vinyl mat for non-scenario play too.

Oooh nice indeed - love the water affect. About how much on the mats and what size are they (4x6' or 4x4' or what?)

How many sets of hedgerows are set up on the table? I am interested in ordering some.

Each set has 6 pieces. That is 3 sets on the table. A 6x4ft.

I have checked out Mats by Mars. Their stuff looks good, their prices are better than most.
I spent months studying tessellation, or how to "tile the plane" with regular shapes to construct geomorphic maps. I keep coming back to a sheet of fabric and separate roads, streams, etc. for a generic surface. The only other option I came up with was the hexagons of GeoHex, which I can't produce for myself. Even with GeoHex, there is a need for separate buildings and other such items.
My dream of an ideal system would be three generic maps: Southwest US/Texas; Midwest US; Canadian Wilderness; with some specialty maps as well. St. Louis is an inspired choice.

Hmmm - good choices and maybe Mats by Mars will pickup those ideas. Needless to say, Cigar Box would also do justice by those, but at a much higher price.
