Revised Aircraft Rules. Repost. This is based on my notes on the same. I think that Aircraft & Ships should be keep as single lists as its hard to put them by nation threads without taking up lots of room (USA,Brit,Ger,Fre,Ital,Rus,Austrian et al) where as you can list origin with the stats. And remember that some of my ideas were that plans were stolen or sold to other nations for production (particularly USA as they made few of their own planes IRL). I wish to acknowledge all the forum folks whos imput over the last two years added to this new diminsion of AQ warfare. Ships will have their own list later.
The aircraft of the human forces could be one of the bright spots in the developement of weapons against the hated invaders. Relatively cheap to make, they represent an important new threat to the Martian invaders.
The turn sequence has to be adjust slightly. The standard Move/Assault or Fire/Move phase is keep - but, the Assault or Fire phase now includes a AntiAircraft phase, where the Martian player can try to take out the planes. An aircraft fires first (its their turn after all), then the Martian returns fire (AA). For the Assault, the aircraft Assaults, then the Martian can fire at it (if they survive the assault).
Stats for the aircraft were developed along the following lines. I submit this so those of you interested can do your own aircraft for scenarios/armies.
Move = 1"/10mph Defense = Move, if max is 10, Martian needs to reroll to confirm hit (high speed = high Def.) needing a 5+ with a -1 to the roll per 1" over 10 of the aircraft; so a def 11 plane requires a 6+, a 12 requires a 7+ etc. All planes have a stall speed of 1/3 their max, rounded to nearest number. The plane must move at least this amount or will stall & crash.
Points are based on aircrafts speed at 10pts/10mph. The value of an aircraft is based on its survival to deliever its payload. Thus is speed and defense related. Armor is usually 1 unless plane is larger or very fast (less valued hit locations due to jinxing)
All planes have limited ammo on their MGs, a natural roll of a '1' means they are out of ammo on That MG. A plane that can no longer fight may leave the table off their sides edge, with no lost (a change) of BP/points if making a successful exit. All planes are BP 1 no matter their cost. Some weapons have a Salvo notation. This excellent rule, care of deathfromabove, limits the number of shots by the weapon and limits ammo to the total amount of ordinance carried. Both rockets and depth charges carry a risk - Oh No! for rockets and Oh oh! for depth charges. In both cases (this is a change), a natural '1' indicates either a fabric fire(rocket) or mishap(depth charge) and the aircraft is destroyed. (I've dropped all the location info, adds complexity not needed). Crew numbers, year first used, and nationality are listed as well. For assault stats, an MG is +1Pow per gun; the various rockets, bombs, and depthcharges are listed on a given plane; basically +1Pow/10lb bomb wt., +1Pow/10lb depth charge wt., +1Pow/rocket fired. Larger bombs and depth charges may stun on a 6+ (no AA fire). Note that the depthcharges are like the Texas Tea barrels, except for having a fuse and a 'sticky' exterior on part of their diameter which is the reason for Oh oh! rule (stuck to aircraft, short fuse, etc.) All British planes are USA also.

There you have it for now - I'll add some more planes later and some from Germany and Italy as well. There are a lot of models available from both Wings/Glory and Shapeways, using 1:144 and 1:288 (for dirigibles & zeppelins) as the 1/72 are really too large for our use. Enjoy!
Well its 'later' and I'm adding a few more planes, including one in Canadian service

I feel this unbalances it point wise so don't list this alterative (might do later). Used off ships as well.
1916 BR/Can Short 166 (S.90) @80pts# Spd 6" Def 6 Arm 1 Spec: Stall 2", 2 crew, Seaplane, Radio (1) MG ASL +1Pow; (3) 112lb Bombs [see above listing] OR (9) 65lb Bombs ASL +7Pow Salvo 3 OR 14" Rocket Comment: additional points due to amount of munitions. Used by Canada as well as USA to some degree. There was a Short 166D single crew version as well, only carried the 65lb bomb load.
One of the big things about the Short line of seaplanes were their foldable wings, a trait carried on with numerous planes for aircraft carriers of WW2
1916 BR/Can Short Bomber @90pts# Spd 8" Def 8 Arm 2 Spec: Stall 3", 2 crew, Radio (1) MG ASL +1Pow; (8) 112lb Bombs (see abv listing) OR (23) 40lb Bombs ASL +4Pow Salvo 3 OR 14" Rocket Comment: additional points due to amount of munitions. 1915 USA/Can Curtis C-1 @90pts Spd 9" Def 9 Arm 1 Spec: Stall 3", 1 crew, Radio (2) MG 2x ASL +1Pow. Comment: developed and producted by USA and sold to Canada as well, this is a fighter style aircraft, frequently used for straffing drones. Britain cancelled initial contract on these due to the next planes production.

Comment: additional points due to amount of munitions, possibly the worlds largest bomber made - the company also producted very large bombers in WW2. Location of the MGs: 2 in nose, 2 in dorsel, and one in vertical hatch. Crew positions Pilot, Radio Op/Bomber, MG positions. Two engines ! *Arm due to having 2 engines (one engine out, drop bomb load and limp home).

Mix as wanted but I use either (20) 100lb (see above listing) or (40) 50lb Bomb +5Pow Salvo 4 Barrage 4. Comment: additional points due to amount of munitions *Armor due to 2 engines. Crew positions the same.
1916 BR H-12A @80pts Spd 8" Def 8 Arm 3 Spec: Stall 3", 4 crew, Radio (4) MG 4x ASL +1Pow; (4) 100lb Bomb (see above) OR (2) 230lb Bomb +8Pow Salvo 1 Barrage 6 Spec: roll 2d10 on Tripod Damage Table, take highest roll. Comment: a smaller version of the Handley line, this bomber had the bombs mounted under the lower wings. Popular with Canada too.

Comment: additional points due to munitions, *confirmed hit required - need 5+, **metal armor gives Armor. This plane was supplied to all the major powers being the first bomber build with non-wood parts. The French either sold outright (USA/Canadian/etc) or traded for other plane plans (Ger). Was used by almost ever major and minor faction in the world.
1916 BR SE5 @140pts# Spd 14" Def 14* Arm 2 Spec: Stall 5", 1 crew, (2) MG 3x ASL +1Pow. * Requires a 'confirm hit' roll a 10 with a second roll of 9+ due to defense. Comment: This aircraft was producted in large numbers once engine was upgraded and was favored due to being British (vs the somewhat shader FR Spad models) and thus can be used by both USA and British forces on the table (vs SPADs).
Remember in all cases the MG listed can be used as a Fire vs Assault weapon (standoff) with Rng 20" +1Pow RF 2 Spec: Ltd Ammo. Enjoy!
