Just a quick note to scale comparison folk out there - Khurasan has kindly added scale comparisons of its figures. Under the Ordering tab, see "15mm Scale Conventions.
They side-by-side compare the following brands:
AB figures, Minifigs, 'Newer' Old Glory, Peter Pig, their line, Rank&File, Freicorps, Mirliton, Oddzial Osmy.
He further explains how miniatures might be different 'sizes' even within their own line. Amazingly it appears his figures are on scale with just about everyones except the AB & Oddzial Osmy ones! I found the comparison to Old Glory particularly interesting as they appear to be same scale*. And we know the Old Glory are AQ scale (18mm). Need to order some of their historical or scifi ones to check - humans of coarse as aliens aren't always fair to compare.
Just thought you folks would find that interesting.
*** Alert ***
This also alarms me as the "Newer" Old Glory might be a move from them to the 15mm scale (vs 18mm). If so, its terrible news for those of us mixing figures from their 18mm AQ size - especially if their upcoming (some time soon I hope, possibly this summer for Historicon??) various new WW1 figures, like the Observation, Aid station, 37mm gun w/crew, cavalry with command, etc!! Now that I look at the Summer 2015 catalog those were listed on, I can't help but note the top reads "15/18mm" !! This would be like Eureka, converting to a slightly smaller scale (15mm vs 18mm) without changing listed price, thus making more profit by using less metal per figure. And they have ALOT of figures btw. So a considerable savings for them. What does this mean. At this point, I forsee no 18mm figures left on the market (these were the only two companies I know of that do 18mm/AQ scale figures). It also kinda nixs the idea (hope?) I had of Old Glory picking up the AQ license. I guess its still possible - remarketing the entire game in 15mm scale. And making the Martians out of combined resin/metal sets. I could see the 2017 release now - "return to the table with All Quiet on the Martian Front - Old Glory bringing the glory back to your table of the battles between Humanity and the Martians in the World War One era". I suppose it also would make possible a WW2 version of the game at some point.
Sigh, I'm going back to my meds now. Need to rest. Thank you all for listening to my ravings.
Peace. Or at least Death to the Martians!
