Did the Spanish American War Occur? My guess is yes.
Did the Russo-Japanese War Occur, especially the crushing defeat the Russians experienced at Tsushima? My guess is yes. Corollary: I am going to guess that the first Russian Revolution, which occurred shortly after Japan trounced the Tsar, succeeded.
Did the Boer War occur? My guess is no. Britain is very focused on preparation for the next invasion.
It is reasonable to advance the technology of the Warship, considering both the Spanish American War and the success of the Thunderchild? My guess is that the HMS Dreadnought was launched in 1900 and Dreadnaught-style warships should be advanced at least 5 years.
The Great White Fleet sailed in 1910. My guess is this event did not occur.

Well, it depends on who you use as a source Ernie had the first Martian invasion occur in 1898 shortly after the Spanish American War (he has Roosevelt, still a Rough Rider, lead a relief expedition). I, however have rejected that date because it doesn't agree with Wells' novel and it doesn't agree with the oppositions of Mars. I have the first invasion occur in 1900 (I think, I need to check my notes), so the Span-Am War definitely occurs and probably the Boer War, as well. In my book the Russo-Japanese War does occur but the revolution does not. I imagine England's military advances quicker than in real life. The Great White Fleet left on its round the world voyage in December of 1907, but in my book Teddy cancels the trip before it starts

Good stuff. The fellow who did that huge thread on 'when' the invansion(s) occur decided not to do the second part, but his arguement was really excellent as to why the AQ invansion couldn't be right on the date. In any case, ty scott and hardlec for futher info.
