That is amazing. Do you have any pics of it being built to give us all an idea on how you made it

WoW how awesomely inspiring!! I too got some of the 'cheap' Michael's brick sheets as well as some of their cobblestone. Off scale, but works good in 1/72 plastics battles I do. I too have my Patches, who looks just like the pictured cat. She oftens tries to help 'type' on my forum. I keep her out of my basement, where my models and tables are. I love the inventive mix of models and particularly those scout cars with their internal fuel tanks. Can't wait for your skirmish rules. Would you permit them to be made part of the Living Rule Book optional section?? Thank you for this visual feast of stunning modelling. Your timing was perfect with the current thread discussion of 'Medium Gun Trucks'.

It's suitable for playing, but not terribly advanced. I prefer to use artist's board from Michael's Crafts, it's the thick paper for drawing or painting, much like photo matte paper. It's expensive per sheet, and I use two varying thicknesses. I like that it's stiff even when wet from glue, unlike a lot of scavenged cardstock. Here's a link to the land ironclad under construction on my blog. I just realized that post is 8 months old, so it's been a long time coming. Land Ironclad

Your timing was perfect with the current thread discussion of 'Medium Gun Trucks'. Thanks! I got carried away with the gun trucks. Something about the concept really strikes me as interesting, especially with other armored cars or even unarmored machinegun carriers. Frustrating that no company appears to make a 15mm Ford M1916 model gun carrier, although several nice kits exist in 1:72nd scale. As for the rules, once posted anyone is free to do as they like. I just fell in love with the concept of 15/18mm models instead of 28mm models, and when the Underdwellers were a concept being discussed, I thought it would be cool to do armored infantry vs. Underdwellers in deep caverns, ala Space Hulk, or infiltrating a Martian outpost to take out a specific node or rescue captured humans awaiting processing, or fighting off hordes of drones and lobos while trying to rescue the crew of a downed landship hulk, or US Army trying to bring order to breakaway settlements using the chaos of the invasion to secede, or perhaps add a Nemo's Troopers concept and an undersea enemy... The Martians don't have a lot of "soft" models, so scenarios need to be carefully planned and story driven to maintain balance. Oh, about the rules, I'll add them as soon as I can find the binder where they were written. Had a hdd crash and lost everything, but thankfully I'm a paper note-taker.

The USMC Figures look very good as regular infantry.

Of coarse! Please see my (overthetop) scenarios under 'Other Factions' for the underground ideas, etc. I too was trying to get a skirmish level game together for the underground complex of a Cyclinder as well as the Morlocks. Be really interested in what you're about with that. Hmm board seems 'sticky' - going log soon. Looking forward to more - the LIC looks great! Laters.

Be really interested in what you're about with that. Hmm board seems 'sticky' - going log soon. Looking forward to more - the LIC looks great! Laters. Dropping down a level adds some great opportunity for details. For example, all sorts of personal weapons can add variety like a double-barreled short shotgun for power, the venerable M1897 trench gun for close up work, scoped .30-06 rifles on snipers, Lewis guns and other light repeating rifles, flame throwers (or other aerosols). Vehicles could be slightly improved so that armored cars and Martian drones are more survivable, but I wouldn't suggest more than 1-2 vehicles per game. Armored infantry are interesting, one suggestion I was working on was giving them more armor, or treating them differently so they were more survivable at skirmish level but paid for in cost of adding an exertion roll. For example, each model receives 3 actions per turn. One possible action is "resting". Armored infantry must roll above a target number each turn that represents heat and fatigue from overexertion in the suits. Every turn an AI trooper uses all his actions without "resting" the target number increases. Failure to roll above the exertion target number renders the trooper unusable for a turn (passes out, sits to catch breath, whathaveyou). Each action spent "resting" decreases the target number by one, so "resting" for a full turn of 3 actions reduces the exertion by three points. Exertion rolls are not taken for models embarked on transports, being embarked on a transport counts as "resting", and turns spent embarked do not increase the exertion roll. It's a fun idea, but might be a bit tedious if more than 5 AI are used or so.

The Eureka Miniatures line has one figure, the 1941 Wake Island dismounted officer, with that style hat. They have a large line of Pacific figures with 'bush hats' - 300WWT60A for rifles plus other heavy weapons, smgs, etc. All the Eureka line is 18mm scale despite their attempt to call them 15s. Works well for our purposes, as they have 'off' armies like Greeks, Turks, Italians, Bulgarians, Serbians, Austro-Hungarian, and various British types.
