Just wondering what the overseer tripod dimesions would have been. I am just wondering about if trying to build one is even practical.

Ernie said it would be 12" tall with the head 4" wide and 4"-5" from front to back. It was going to be a huge model.

Yeah, the Pegasus model should work pretty well, especially if you go with the idea of a 'third generation' machine. They also make a really nice model in 1/144 scale for the machines that hovered from the original movie - sku is PGH-9002 with (2) at $18.53 Amazon Prime. Amazon also has some of their river sets at $22.50 (28mm scale 40" worth) and walls at $21.25 (6 at 6"x.5"x1.5"tall).
Michigan Toy Soldier has an extensive listing of Pegasus productions at higher prices (even with a signup 10% discount) - amoung those being the Tom Cruise movie version at 15" tall at $65.99 (its unclear if its a 1/144 or not) and the original movie verison floater in 1/48 at $45.99. All these might work well for standins if you want to pay the bucks.
In the case of the 1/144 'flyers' I was thinking that these might become a 3rd generation counter to Human airforces - actually 'flying machine' to fight in the skies and support the Martian war effort. It would also give them something to use against the naval assets that the prey-that-stings uses.

Just FYI: Cult TV Man (out of Atlanta) has the Pegasus tripods for the original $49.95 list price. I have had really good service from him.
The Pegasus tripod claims to be 1/144th on the box, but it can be whatever scale you want it to be. The only thing about the kit that gives any indication of scale is a crushed automobile on the base disc. A few seconds spent and that can be covered over or carved off. Or just replace the base with plastic or wood.

OOh ty for the location of 'affordable' Pegasus tripods! Agree just curious as to whether is a 1/144 or not (as opposed to 1/72, 1/48, etc.)
