Folks,
I was thinking of adding some mobile artillery to my BEF and noticed the Texas Longhorns models.
Are they significantly different to the mobile artillery? I'm talking solely in terms of the physical model rather than game performance.

They look like they have the anti-tripod gun instead of the 6" howitzer and have larger gun shields, plus additional shielding on the sides of the the tanks near the front.

I finally cracked open my box of Longhorns. No crewman. No pieces for coal bin to fuel tank conversion. And do not really care for the gun based in the well of the steam tank where I assume the boiler and machinery sit. I may convert one with an elevated fighting compartment as an unique Texas or militia vehicle. I may use the othersfor barbette mounted weapons.

I worked them up as ATguns, but agree the figure is a bit off somehow. Charley, for my monies I'd go with a battery of Conqueror Steam Tank-Mobile Artillery models. At GBP 5.75 (about $8.17 USD at 1.42 current exchange rate) thats about $24.51 per 3 gun battery. Even with the shipping fee (22%!) it comes to only 21.05 GBP or about $29.89 USD - best to get soon in case pound goes back up. The original AD was $40 for three vs about $30. Good deal.

I was lucky enough to pick up a set of 3 AD Mobile Artillery at a very reasonable price from a chap on Facebook. They should do the trick nicely.

But, alas, I am plumb out of mobile artillery. I used my last box for a tesla gun carrier and artillery train barbettes.

Dang, hate when that happens The Conqueror folk will be glad to provide - as I said above it comes to about $30 a battery, better than the old AD $40 per price.
