I like #3 too but I have to admit I have a soft spot for #2. I used to play the computer game of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.
J, I have plenty of left over sprues of weapons and I found a nice file on Thingiverse that is just Martian weapons, so I'm good.

So far it's holding up pretty well. The amazing thing is it was printed without supports. The middle one, the Jeff wayne model, is proving to be the most fragile. I've already had to repair it.

Maybe try a thin layer of white glue on it. Most dry clear. Giving it flexible strength. Worst case you need to re-paint.  |

No, sadly, I haven't gotten around to painting them yet. Finding the time between doctor visits, dialysis treatments, an upcoming cataract surgery and just general inertia, painting has been low on the list of things to do. I'm hoping by the middle of November I'll get some things painted. Fingers crossed.
