State of the Game!
First off I would like the thank the community for their continued support. It means a tremendous amount to me. It has been a long process but we are approaching the home stretch for the Kickstarter.
I took on this project as both a labor of love, and believe it or not, on the medical advice of some of my doctors. As a disabled Marine veteran who suffers from a TBI and significant PTSD from 4 combat tours in Iraq the AQFM project has been a significant part of my recovery.
The fluff for the book is almost complete and will be sent to the editor and a select few for pre-screening in the next couple of weeks.
The sculping is 95% done with most of the changes being made are for part fitting and production considerations with only a couple of models left to be sculpted:
Overseer
Power Node
Laser Fencing
Sentinel
Constructor
Turrets for the K-Wagon
We are still sourcing manufacturing for the miniatures. Right now the last quote we received for plastic injection molding was around $140,000 just for the molds needed to produce the sprues and a 6-10 month delay in shipping from china. We are also investigating high quality 3D printing. This would reduce delivery time and initial run costs considerably.
New artwork is being commissioned to reflect the new sculps. This will be both for the rulebook and promotional material.
Also the in the last half of September the call will go out for for the next round of playtesting for the final cut of 2nd Edition. If you didn't get a chance to be a playtester for the last round then would be your chance to take 2nd Edition for a test drive and provide your thoughts and insights into the game. The focus will be on balancing the American, British and German armies against the Martians
