Question on Cavalry

The original rules had three 2 figures per base element to one unit (of 6 figure total). The Texans and others have suggested a 10 man & 15 man arrangement also, but making a run of 2 cav per base/6 total works fine. You can build what you like from there - the colonial Brits had 10man squads and there were other factions/powers that had 15man units. Up to you but 3/6 is fine.
