As awful as the demise of Architects of War has been, it does create some opportunities. The paper All Quiet products I sold with Ernie's permission are now being rebranded as "Great Martian War" products (as are the two novels I'm writing). All copyrightable aspects are being removed so there are no legal issues. (The buildings are just 1910-era American buildings, after all, nothing copyrightable about that!)
And my agreement with Ernie included not making any Martian buildings or items. Well, that's all null and void now, too. I can make anything I darn well please as long as I don't call it All Quiet on the Martian Front. So I'm thinking that once I have a few other things out of the way I might start making things like Heat Ray Towers and other Martian structures.
A small glimmer of light, I'm hoping

Great news. Wonder if the forum should be named something else?

I don't think there is any issue with the forum since you aren't selling anything. How many forums are out there with "Star Wars" in the title, after all?

Scott: That's good news. I'll be interested to see what you produce!
As for the forum name, I'd recommend it NOT be changed. That way it could still be found be others who have heard or have interest in the original game.

US Army command and gun towers. Make them so they can fit on top AQMF trench bunkers. I would be most pleased.

Yes Scott - you know how I've pressed you for sometime for other structures that the license prohibited you from doing. Like all the various Martian static defenses in particular! Can't wait to see what you start on with this regard. Agreed that some downed Martian paperterrain tripods would be welcomed and of coarse a bunch of 'zombies' ragers for sure. You know I run two 'kits' for AQMF gaming - one is entirely based on Paperterrain products, rubber cement, and construction paper (for woods, hills, etc.) with styrofoam 2x2 and 4x2 boards for the 'table'. Much easier to transport and they look great. Agree the gun turrets like the ones you've shown for your 'hardware' trenches would be nice, especially if they fit over/on to your current trench system. How about some sheets of city blocks as well, for those who can't afford the great Cigarbox products? Bright light in the dim of demise.

This sounds very promising. I think it's great that people are willing to pick up the slack. My 17 year old son and I bought big into the system last year at Historicon and later this Christmas by mail order. I think we've invested about a $1000 into the system and buy as much more as we can. We are converting other ranges, looking for other parties that may make something similar. Anyways, good luck and keep us posted.
