Has there been any official word on what the base sizes for infantry will be in 2nd Edition? I'm getting the urge to paint up some more troops and I'm wondering what I should do for bases?

I believe the new bases are going to be the FOW size for the infantry.

Glad to hear that since I rebased everything to that size already!

Next question, How many to a base? They are larger then 15mm. Thinking 3 or 4 to a infantry base.

I was adding 5 to a base like the old ones were. I am not sure what AbbyNormal has in mind. Sorry pic is blurry.

I agree as I tried to rebase some of my infantry and gave up as did more damage trying to do that. I have so many new infantry that I will just be rebasing those in the future.

The size of the base and shape of the base and number of figures on it are irrelevant to game play in AQMF. Those are simply aesthetic choices because the AQMF rules refer only to the base being in contact or not. Individual figures on the base are not counted up as is done in Napoleonic and Civil War games where the strength is counted by number of figures.
Relax and don't get stressed over things that don't matter. Play the game and enjoy it.

I’d always liked this idea. I’d also always thought of 4 figures on a round base, say a 40mm round. My problem always was that I wanted more stands in a unit, 5 stands rather than than 3. Box holder is right, do what you like and enjoy your figures and game 😁

That's what I was planning on. Infantry are rather weak, so that will not make them over powering.

Well the infantry and drones are just cannon fodder unless they are fighting each other.
The 2nd Edition the Infantry can't take on Tripods by themselves but can do some damage as they now have a bit more strength with another weapon and harder to hit them.

If you don't have a none dis-closer, please explain further?

I never felt infantry was useless. Tripods can only ignore them at their own risk and if they shoot at infantry they aren't shooting at tanks or artillery. The successful tactic for the humans has always been to give the Martians too many targets. This means engaging with everything at once. Infantry out in front as blips, longer ranged guns put behind the infantry that will force the Martians to come close to the infantry in order to get in range of the guns. If they pause to deal with the blips, then they are getting pounded by tanks and artillery. If they move to engage the tanks and artillery, the infantry can launch assaults. And infantry in trenches or bunkers can be amazingly hard to kill.
