G'day all,
and welcome to the Dark World War fan forum.
I'd like to start by thanking the Admin team for the chance to use this awesome forum. I have found this forum to be one of the most supportive and helpful forums around, and for this reason I've asked to use this as our home base forum.
Now, in the coming months Slave 2 Gaming will be releasing our Dark World War Beta testing rules for free on Wargames Vault, however I'd like to share it with those who are interested in here first, and maybe start some discussions.
I know what people might be thinking, that I'm doing this because of the new life that is being thrown into the AQMF game. This isnt true, I'm still a big fan of AQMF and am keen to see where it will go, BUT as some people who live on this forum know, I've been working on these rules for a while and had planned a release date for this year.
I'm not trying to steal AQMF's thunder, just following through with the original plan of the Dark World War, which was to give the setting the complete workings; figures, rules and background.
Anyway, this year will see quite a fair amount of new releases for the game.
All are welcome to participate, just go easy on my poor emotions!  |

Glad to have you guys! So what exactly is the story with your game? I've seen your gorgeous tanks and they look very, Lovecraftian and I'm curious to see what the idea around them is.

This is from the Slave 2 Gaming websites British - In June 1917, at the start of the Battle of Messines, the mighty British commonwealth faced off against the proud and powerful German Army. 19 huge land mines were detonated, tearing apart the German lines and the fabric between the natural and Supernatural.
Supernatural creatures spewed forth and the western front crumbled, as both sides quickly pulled back from this new enemy. Russia would fall to a new enemy in the resurrected Rasputin the great and the middle east would struggle under the cults of Moloch. The Pacific would see the rise of the Elder Gods with the return of R'lyeh and the cult of Dagon, in the Bermuda the re-emergence of Atlantis would see a new enemy and cult step onto the stage.
Even with all this, mankind still continue to fight each other. Old enemies and grudges reappear, Mexico invades America, the Prussians invade New Guinea, and China invades Manchuria and Japan.
German -

However, with the almost complete destruction of the German Army at this part of the Western front, forces were pulled to defend this part of the line. Much of the German Empire would fall as these creature tried to take a hold in the material world, the British were more prepare as they had planned the Assault that was to come after the mines, but the Germans were hopelessly unprepared.
Much of Germany was lost to the Hell gate and its minions, The Kaiser was lost in the ensuing advance into Germany, and it is unsure if he had survived. Prussia became the strong-point of the German people, pulling them back from total annihilation.
The Prussian people have reclaimed the German empire for Prussia.
American
The Americans were destined to come into the war, with the opening of the Hell gate, they began preparations to get their as soon as possible to support their Allies.
However, as the Americans have done this, violence has erupted along the Mexican border, with a united South American army pushing into the heart of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
Much of the United States Army has been moved south to protect and retake this area. However, a small Expeditionary force has been sent to the Western Front.
Hell
From the eternally burning fire of the Hell Gate, beginning along the Messiness Ridge line and running as far east as the city of cologne would be engulfed by this new terror. Hamburg would survive, but the Netherlands, parts of Luxemburg and everything to just north of Verdun now become the Wasted Lands.
Lands destroyed by the opening of the Hell Gate, those who lived here have long since perished. The fires of Blue and Red burn both day and night, and the howling scream that comes and goes like the wind is enough to drive any normal person insane.
From this destroyed wasteland come the "Creatures of Hell." The Demonic beast, the mutated and warped remains of fellow soldiers, and the warped and twisted remnants of the metal machines that mankind once used. |

Interesting! Needs a little edit work - to wit: ...the British were more [prepared]... ; cologne needs to be capitalized . Just a few small typos I'm sure. Look forward to some scenarios/battle reports.  |

Look forward to some scenarios/battle reports. I'm just about to post up the Background from the rules, its basically just the Western front. The main Background will be uploaded next month as it covers the the whole world.
Although it is still a work in progress, I didn't want to put up the whole world background because it was taking too long to sort out. Besides if it turns out there isnt alot of interest then we may only release different settings as new armies are released.

Any updates? The rules got put on hold as Mike wanted to re-read it and run through a few more games. Add to that some other issues, and we’ve had to hold it back a bit longer. Sorry, I wanted it out for March... I’m heading down to see him on Easter Monday, maybe have a few games... I’m hoping it will be ready for a May or June release. |
