This is a small matter, but, I'd like to suggest that a Gatherer has a light heatray for self protection. It makes no sense for that tripod operator to work without some small protection. By setting it as light, we allow a little firepower and range, equal to a drone, and no point increase is necessary. Alternately, it can cost 5 or 10pts to addon. On a selfish note, I just want an excuse to use the heatray provided with my new Blackhat 'Handlers'. Thoughts!?

It makes sense the have a light heat ray. Not sure whether it should be extra points or not

I agree it should have weaponry for self-defense, and would recommend 5 pts for the upgrade to Light Heat Ray. Re the Black Hat handlers I'd like them better with 6 legs similar to those on controller tripods, which shouldn't be too hard to cast in resin.

I'll also agree that a light heat ray makes sense for gatherers. Not certain about the cost. I wonder if such a small value in comparison to the cost of the tripod is worth adding on. On the other hand if I remember correctly a gatherer is 100 points (I'm at work so don't have the stats handy) so it is a 5% increase. Maybe that is OK.

The Gatherer is 50pts terrance; compared to 60pts for a squad of 3 drones with same light heatray. Its a balancing act in a way - I can see both sides of points/no points - will ponder further as I get replys to this question. Got my first two 'handlers' from BlkHat - love it.
