This has to do with Routers. The situation is this. There is a unit of routers. when they make a rout move, they will get within 3" of a Tripod and will be destroyed. During the move, the Humans move Patton within Line of Sight first, and implements the Rally rule. And the routers rally. Is timing of the moves up to the players discretion like this? Or is there some sub phase when the Rally rule is implemented?

A rout should always be away from the enemy, so this situation seems unusual. Was the unit surrounded?
Regardless, you moved correctly with the Patton tank to provide the chance to rally. Alternatively, you could have also expended any available command token to rally the unit as well. The attempt to rally can be either executed in the moment after routing once, or at the end of the turn. Destruction from routing shouldn't happen until the Martian turn.

The unit was mostly surrounded, but to get around a building in the way would take it within 3" of a Tripod. Destruction occurs instantly when the routers get to 3" of the Martian, not necessarily on the Martian turn.

Interesting. I still say that if the routing unit finishes it's move 3" from a Tripod but within 6" of some kind of command tank, it should be given the chance to rally.
