We actually ran them with the ability to shoot, (after some discussion) we decided that the drones having only 10" range and the veteran having 40", it was almost not worth taking drones.
Veterans are tough no matter what, but we had 3 veterans with a total of 190 points of drones (1 flying) + a slaver with one more unit of drones, so the way that I saw it was 190+ 75 for veteran controllers worked out at about 265. So that's at least 1 - walkers off the field.
Really it was just a trial, it made the Vets quite expensive (also with the launcher & grenades), but it seemed to work ok.
I'll try to put up the battle report tomorrow or Friday & you should get a good laugh

Ok, so I tried a game last night with veterans paying an extra 25 points for the controller ability, it seemed to work ok.
Very crazy game! 3 tripods & 1 unit of drones gone at once!
CRAZY!

Fantacide never really took off over here, I made a choice about that Vs All quiet and took All quiet, might have to look for the rules for fantacide.
Loved Chronopia, but have tried to stay away from Frostgrave (just too many other games... We have been using them for Dragon Rampant & Kings of War.
There's a few more things to come, but I think most of them are due after the DWW cavalry

Mike wants to get these guys and the Dark World War stuff (AQMF Brits and Prussians) to a decent level of units before we open another line of figures.
Mike actually has two different lines of Elves, the Conquista-Elves and a more traditional Chronopia style Elf. Im pushing for the second one, because they are pretty cool, but thats really his call.

Thanks, as much as I would love you to order soon, the Cavalry are on their way so maybe wait a bit longer.

Hey guys, I was looking at my collection of Martians (planning for a game), using both my Lobotons and my drones. Now I only have 1 controller tripod ATM.
I know that it might make the Martians more powerful, but I thought I'd ask the question. I wondered whether there should be an option to buy the controller ability for other sorts of tripods?
This may have been up in discussion before, but I've missed it. What I thought was that perhaps for every 750 points of Tripods, you could buy a 50 point(?) controller upgrade?
my thoughts were'nt really based around making Martians more powerful, rather making controlled units more available.
Thoughts?
