So has anyone else hoping to get some hobby time over the holidays. I still have loads to do on my Car to get it back on the road but I am hoping to get round to playing a couple of games of AQ and making some progress on the following. LOTR - Currently painting Harad for my eventual Siege of Minas Tirith game. From White Dwarf 53 back in the 80's. Warhammer 40k - Still going on with my Tallarn Desert Raiders army and Tau. Also hoping to start painting other Imperial Armies. AQMF - Need to finish off painting some Ragers and more Martians. Oldhammer - Have an ongoing project to paint all the old Regiments of Renown. Currently on Bugmans. This all depends on how much I get done on my Car over the next few weekends but hoping to see the light of day (and put the engine back in) by the new year

I stopped working full-time in September so have more time for hobbies. In December I plan to do the following:
AQotMF - finish the BEF Land Ironclad conversion, paint more Flivvers and the rest of the 1 pdr coil guns, start a mould master for replacement tracks for BEF tanks and carriers. 40K - paint another unit of Red Hunters space marines (Vanguard Veterans). FoW - add Silfor grass tufts and scatter grass to Canadian/US First Special Service Force and Normandy Herr German infantry bases. RC Naval Combat - finish the last section of fiberglass deck for battlecruiser HMS Indefatigable (1/144 scale). Motorcycles - remove the gas tanks from the 1974 Norton Commando Interstate and 1979 Triumph Bonneville and have the interiors relined with a new anti-rust coating.

Loved to see some pictures of the Red Hunters. As well as the Norton and Triumph. I have a spare petrol tank for my moggy which I am keeping as a spare do you know of anything I can swill round it to try and give it some rust preventative?

I'm finally back to work on my All Quiet miniatures. I've got two slavers assembled and I'm working on a passel of drones to go with them. This will double my slaver-drone force. After that I think I will FINALLY get to work on my land ironclad. I need to get it done so I can take some photos to give to the artist who will be doing the cover for the third Martian War novel I'll probably scratch-build a new conning tower for it which I can use to house the battery and switch for the lights I plan to put on/in it. I'm also working on some Civil War houses for PaperTerrain. These could be used for All Quiet, too. And write! Write! Write! I'm behind schedule on Book 3!

The only Red Hunters photos I've shot so far are of three Dreadnoughts. When I had the Triumph restored in 2004 and the Norton in 2007 the restorer recommended a tank lining product called Kreem. This year we found it was starting to flake off the Triumph tank and foul the petcock screens. He's found a new product that can be applied over the Kreem but I don't know what it's called. Will let you know after I've taken the tanks into the shop in a couple of weeks.

Seems I've deleted the Red Hunters Dreadnought photos from 2 years ago so will take new photos. I was unable to create a gallery. The uploaded images keep appearing in the comments section instead of the url section and won't stay in the url section after being pasted. In addition there's no tab to post the gallery.
I posted a recent photo of the vintage Triumph in the Introduction section under Loyalist.

I hope to finish my 2nd Battalion of the Foreign Legion troops. Working on painting up naval forces to include my recent Queen Delta figure (1:1 Shipyard from Old Glory). Further AQ stuff include my S2G samples I got at Historicon/Fall-In this past year - establishing the look for my long overdue order to S2G. Also painting up some Conqueror 8" Mobile Artillery and Black Hat Brits I got at conventions. Working up a holiday order for IG as well - need my 1st Dominator, Royal Scientist, Spirit of St. Louis models. Hope to get to the assembly of my Zeppelin. I've had the 1/288 parts and the pool tub and Easter Egg caps forever - need to get that done. Need to finish my "Pedro Papers" Mexicans for the ambush scenario. I've got all Peter Pig 15s for the humans and a nice looking destroyed wagon to paint - it's set out with a radio with open key as a trap; filled with explosives. An Pedro Villias waiting in ambush. I've also been busy painting up all my Bones figures from Reaper Miniatures. I'm using those exclusively for Frostgrave as they're great looking and much cheaper to field all the wizard and warrior types. My favorite is the 'Pack Mule' Harald lol. He's almost a walking equipment pile.I'm also putting finishing touches on my 10mm Lost Regiment human troops. Still to start on my 'Ogres', but looking forward to that. Also working up an order for the Battlelore figures. A lot of those will also work for a 15 mm version of Frostgrave, including the casualty figures. Speaking of which, do look to the Battlelore site - there's an excellent fantasy game there that didn't die with AD (formerly Crush of Iron). Its really nice with all the 15 mm figures available & I recommend a second look for those who drifted away from the system when AD died. A really good update & list of miniatures! Need to finish painting the large group of 1/1200 Dystopian 'WEEDS' as well as 1/2400 GHQ ships for AQ. All this with all the holiday stuff going on and that isn't the entire list. I'll be lucky to get any painting in! Cheers! PS: after rereading this a day later - No Way! LOL, but I will try to get some FFL troops done and the S2G samples done as well.

Hmmm, over the Xmas break I hope to wire up the LEDs in my assault Tripods and assemble my Scout ones...
Other period gaming and VSF stuff have pushed this onto the back burner for quite a while!

I'm making some progress: Finished the Land Ironclad, based and painted 12 Flivvers, painted 6 more S2G tanks and am painting 16 steamer tanks (a company of 10 including 6 Tommy tank conversions, 3 tow tanks, 2 mine layers and a clamp tank). Motorcycle gas tanks are ready for relining. It's been -30C with windchill for a few days so there will be no work on 1/144 scale fiberglass ship decks until spring (unless Kim goes away for a weekend and I can do it in the basement). Doubt I'll do anything with 40K or FoW models. I'm trying to finish my Canadian army for AQ, then paint some Martian opponents. I'm working on a Dominator today; had to do a fair bit of cleanup and smoothing of the body casting with various types of Swiss files and wet and dry sandpaper.

I picked up a dominator tripod, a tesla tank, and a munitions tender last month and need to work on all of those. Plus, I just bought two gunboats and a set of planes from Scott.
But then there's my medieval 28mm Islamic army with 150+ 28mm figs that needs painting...
And hundreds of 1/72 civil war troops needing the same...
Oh, and the big box of 28mm Perry Civil War guys that arrived last September...
Not to mention, we are packing up over the next few weeks and moving from Ohio to St. Louis... (I guess the miniatures will have to wait!).
So much to do...so little time!

1) Sort of stuck creatively on AQMF since late November. I have been keeping an eye on new releases but I passed on the flame tank and chainsaw guy. I should get around to finishing my Bison artillery rail car.
2) Have been fiddling with Team Yankee. Finished a US Armor company in MERDC camo scheme. Now painting Soviet tank battalion and friends.

GEEZ, madmorgan!! Your holiday project list makes me tired just reading it! Yeah well note the new "PS" - no way I can get much done other than that one liner. As I'm retired, I don't need to rush a 'holiday' list; just work a little on something every day. Atm, with my bad back, I can't travel to my most local (2 hours one way) game store, so no gaming in the future. Just sit here and torment you all with my ravings! Speaking of which check out the sub board OOB - Dogs of War!
