A while back I was doing research on painting schemes and I ran across a picture of a tripod that had the old school War of the Worlds eye painted on all of the tripods (red/blue/green as shown below) for this one guys army. I've been unable to find this picture again (after 30+ google searches), does anyone happen to know what I'm referring to, or have pictures?

The tricolor eye is from the 1953 movie. Now-a-days you can freeze-frame sections and grab details. The models are incredible.

That's why I said "old school" -- I didn't want anyone to think about the crappy Tom Cruise movie.... The pictures above had some cool ideas I wanted to swipe when I started painting my martians.

Gene Barry versus Tom Cruise. No contest. Bat Masterson versus Martians. That would be fun. People who know what I said: Priceless

Oh yes. Me too. I have the 1953 move. Hated the other one except for the tripods.

I liked the new film apart from the characters who were not easy to like as they all acted like spoiled brats. But the tripods and red weed were good

I liked them both for different reasons - 1953 was much better acting/writing; newest was great for its tripods and special effects. Two cups , both full.
