Its come to my attention that I've not reposted an article I did on the various scales in AQ. Some of this is from sheer calculation, some from other forum members (notably hardlec) and some from listings by vendors. Use them as you will, with a gran of salt as I'm no math genius, just a mad fellow whose trying to game...
First there is the artillery scale table. I've found it extremely useful when working with the British system. All figures are approximate.
Read Pound - Millimeter - Inch [Use for AQ artillery ratings and stats.]
1/2 pdr - 18mm - .75" [AQ use: 1/2 lb coil gun in BEF Inf., MARs pattern rifles]
1 pdr - 37mm - 1.457" [coil guns, infantry mobile weapon]
2 pdr - 40mm - 1.575" [coil guns, common ship borne, various BEF vehicles]
QF 2 pdr - 40mm - 1.575" [Quick Fire] [Monotanks, some ships]
3 pdr - 47mm - 1.85" [coilguns, some tanks from Japan/Italy]
6 pdr - 57mm - 2.244" [Defiant AC, USA bazooka/recoiless guns]
9 pdr BL, 10 pdr mtn gun - 69.8mm - 2.75" [Bagged Linens (powder form as opposed to shells on QF), [see next entry for comparsion]
Whitworth - 70mm - 2.75" [standard militia and marine AT gun - hexagonal barrel gives +1 To Hit - very accurate]
12, 13, 15, 17 pdr - 76.2mm - 3" [includes rapid firing 75mm as well, almost universally used caliber, on ships alsol]
18 pdr - 83.8mm - 3.3" [BEF AT gun non-coil]
QF 20 pdr - 83.8mm - 3.3" [rare]
25 pdr - 87.6mm - 3.45" [actually WW2 gun, here for comparsion]
QF 32pdr - 96mm - 3.78" [found on ships, some BEF Battletanks*see my special weapons thread for these]
60 pdr - 127mm - 5" [used in Territorial units as well as Holt Mobile Artillery SPA, common on board numerous naval ships and Fortress walls]
QF 64pdr - 192mm - 7.5+" [closest to 8" I could find, note use as a single gun on a low in water ship and numerous other ships]
Basing - heres a measurement scale for the popular FoW bases:
Small = 1.25" x 1" / 32mm x 25mm
Medium = 2" x 1.25" / 50mm x 32mm
Large = 2" x 2.5" / 50mm x 65mm
Hardlec figure scales:
15 mm is exactly 1:110
16.5 mm is exactly 1:100
18 mm is about 1:92
Alternate figure size:
1/72 = 22 mm
1/56 = 28 mm / one & 1/8 inch
Railroad Modeling Scales:
Z gauge 1:220 about 3/4" x 1/2"
N gauge 1:160 about 1" x 5/8"
HO gauge 1:87 about 2" x 1.5"
S gauge 1:64 about 2.75" x 2"
O gauge 1:48 about 4" x 2.5"
G gauge 1/22.5 about 8" x 5"
Speed:
1 nautical mile per hour equals 1.852 kilometer/hour or .621 miles per hour is about 1.15 miles per hour.
Hopefully you all will find these useful. I certainly do.
