Does anyone remember seeing stats on the US armored cars? These came out just as AD was going under and I cannot find a PDF or forum entry listing the cost, armor, etc. These are armored with machine guns, but not the flivvers with the box and a machine gunner on top. Madmorgan, were the Texan armored cars you designed based on the US armored cars or did you work from scratch?

I agree I would like to see IGs take on the TX units. I submitted my TX stats to fill the gap and will gladly yield to the new 'official' version.

Before AD went under, Jamie told me to use the British armored car stats. Movement of 10", defense 5, armor 6, and an hmg instead of whatever the British weapon is. Same point cost.

Seems reasonable to use the same stats and points as the BEF Spector AC.

Using the Spector stats makes sense. I just wasn't sure if I had missed something. Thanks for the input.

Well in my TX posting for their units, the US Armored car costs 45 points not 55. Why?? Because its open topped and traditionally that meant more subject to crew damage. Besides the Brits Always Cost More... something of an unwritten rule. Why their armored cars cost so much is a mystery - I get that the radio gives them a Big advantage as a recon unit, so maybe that is worth the +10 points. Its interesting doing the listings for individual stats for forkongnomes army builder. Strange how (with the errata pdf) the basic BEF tank, the Imperial, costs 90 points (270/3 elements = 90), just like the revised amount for a Lloyd Cardigan Carrier. I suppose the price includes the better 17 pound HV gun (30" +3 Pow) vs the USA 4" gun (30" +2 Pow). Even more so that a 17pdr. is a 76.2 mm/3" gun! Guess they mean it about "High Velocity". In a way this is kinda like deathfromabove's Tripod Buster Shell, designed for only 3"guns, better bang for a smaller gun. Under his shell, the Imperial would be firing a 30" +5 Pow round! Pretty good against even the hardest armored tripod (14-5 = 9+ roll to crack the big ones!). In any case, I hope IG does publish the 'real' TX listings complete with stats. I'm always curious to see what was originally intended and also to see the bias AD used to help 'sell' their newest models - another of the GW style traits pasted on by AQMF rules crew (Cavatore*Baker*Priestley).

I hope Ironclad can avoid and reverse the slow slippage toward warhamster.
