Not long ago I was chatting about the induction telegraph and couldn't remember the 'Black Edision' name. It was Granville Woods, born 23 April 1856 and died 30 Jan 1910. He had a number of patents, over 50 of which he sold to companies like Westinghouse, General Electric, and America Engineering. But the induction telegraph was one patent that he had to fight for in court, winning a verdict over Alexander Bell. With a vision far ahead of his time, Mr. Woods had a major impact on the future of USA. A salute!
