With the new official forum do you still want this one to carry on?

Yes. Continue this one until it is clear that the alternative really has something better to offer and probably indefinitely.
This forum has captured lots of good ideas and great work to date.
"Official" forums have tendency to be dominated by the commercial interest that creates and hosts it. This one has demonstrated great grassroots appeal and pretty good variety of interchange. It has also maintained a level of civil discourse and exchange that is exemplary.

Definitely keep it open, at least for the present. Check again next year Actually, now that I think on it, this will be self-regulating. If people feel that this forum serves a purpose they will keep coming here and keep posting things. If not, it will die a natural death.

I think this forum is a major reason AQotMF is still a viable game.

I'm all for keeping it open. More flavor, more ideas, great modeling tips, and features that make this an important source for the AQ players out there. I plan to use both sites with the knowledge that IGs is for commercial purposes - and with the hope that they can build their business. But, if they "AD" (an AQ verb now), we'll still have this site to keep the game going. I really hope IG is successful mind you. I'll help as I can with that. But, this site will remain my favorite for more reasons than just above mentioned.

I agree with everyone here. More forums and more open non-censored / bias ideas the better. We want to run this company different from most other manufactures. We want the fans to drive this game not the other way around.

I put a lot of time and effort into posts on the last 'official' forum and knew where to find some great information posted by other fans. I was very disappointed when it was discontinued. I applaud the efforts of the AQMF fans to populate this forum with great ideas and inspiration and have recreated some of my old posts on this forum as well. I really don't feel like recreating something for a third time.
Steve and Joe, I really appreciate the risk that you are taking and efforts to bring back AQMF.

Good to know, I shall continue to heat ray those spam bots. If the forum does become unused I can set it to read only so the information is there but so it does not get spammed.

Emphatic yes! I think this forum is the main reason that people still talk about the system. Thank you for taking this on. Kev
