He wants that last Grenadier from New Zealand also. Only two bidders with thirteen bids. Forget that craziness. I am going back to looking for troops for my BEF in Egypt and Turkish Empire.

I haven't seen him buy any human stuff except Patton's tank. He appears focused on Martian items. Maybe that's why I was able to get a box of American armored cars.

Egads you guys - I think I'll keep what I own and be thankful to have it and await IG to get the stuff back in stock over a few months time first.

I already had almost 10000 point of stuff when AD went under. Just trying to fill a few holes. Most of the time this craziness is way beyond me. I think you're right Mad, waiting is probably the best idea.

The AD Egyptian troops appear to be identical to the Blue Moon 15/18mm British Colonial Period Egyptian figures (in the Sudanese section), which are relatively cheap.

Maybe that's why I was able to get a box of American armored cars. Billf, So you are the one who out bid me on those armored cars. I wasn't going to get crazy on buying them. I had to copy the picture of the box to have an idea of what they looked like. I found those interesting because only the cab is armored. The gunner is out in the open. I haven't updated my spreadsheet of late. At the last update I had over 8k of US, 7K of Martian, and 6k of British forces. It is a bit more than that now. Which doesn't count the Minesweeper (for modification) and railroad gear I have picked up. I think the railroad cannon will make a great objective for the Martians. I found an unarmored "Model T" gun car at tin-soldier.com/cars.htmlIt makes a nice field modified unit and will fill the need for AC for my US forces.

I have that model of the Model T Ford with Pancho Villa in it. It is a nice model I bought it for different games. I was making Three Amigos themed gunslingers for some games we used to play, Boot Hill then Legends of the Old West and now Dead Man's Hand.

LoL, great minds - see my thread/OOB for the Mexican guerilla warfare, Pedros Villas Journals - using lots of tin soldier and peterpig 15mm figures. Sounds like fun talbot and welcome to the forum btw

I'd still love to see an American armored car based on the "Octo-Auto"

Wow great pic! And actually most of the WW2 ones (M-8 etc) used the 8 wheeled configuration. I agree, a WW1 version is 'needed'

Re: the eBay craziness: PT Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute." The internet and eBay has just made it easier for find them. WC Fields: "Never give a sucker an even break."
The best face on it is that the guy is driven by something that we don't or can't know or understand. Add unconstrained finances and "voila!!" The only guiding principle to begin to understand whazzup is that "people do what seems logical to them--at the moment"

The 8-wheeler should be doable.
The body appears to be a standard Model-T touring car. With some plastic and a second model, assuming you can get one two at a reasonable price. The frame can be extended fore and aft to accommodate the extra axles. Strips of plasticard can be formed into the fenders.
