I have been working on a Founder tripod for the Founder scenario. This image shows the McDonalds Manta tripod against an Assault tripod. I think the scale works out pretty well. I took the Manta and began adding to it. I figured it would need a single eye like all the other tripods. I also wanted it to look less battle-ready and more intelligent. So I added 'gubbins' to the top, I wanted it to look like the carapace was removed to fit more 'brains' in. First coat of paint. As this is a Founder of a colony, I have been considering adding spheres to the underneath, like it is carrying 'martian eggs'. Thoughts?

Great conversion. Adding cargo spheres and a few more items on top (like the things on the Scientist heads) would be good.
Where do you get these MacDonalds tripods - never heard of them

I also utilied that same McDonald's toy with guitar wire for tentacles...but I use it like a large, independent sniper drone. In my version, it has a powerful rail gun which responds to the nearest target automatically. Movement, however must depend on control from a slaver or similar tripod.

Thanks for the positive comments, I think I will try and add some Scientist bits, like Loyalist suggests.

Absolutely fantastic both of you! Wonder if Walmart has anymore of those models you mentioned. Great conversions btw - don't do too much more to the Founder, it looks great as is. Burt see my previous comment vs the 'shield' and 'ogre' Martian machines. You're Sniper Tripod is a real 2ndGen machine with a really logical concept. I think the Martians would definitely have a 2ndGen style 'Sniper', especially after the LIC and Goilith (sp) has made their presence felt. Something to counter the large gun platforms. Imagine the horrible as the Sniper Tripod zeros in with pre-game bombardment of a heavy battery of howitzers! Or the Goilith (sp) holed by a long range railgun! I won't be stating those anytime soon... btw what stats do you use for those two?? Laters.
