I don't own any Kitchener tanks and no on else in the local area has BEF forces, so I'm wondering how effective they are in the game compared to a regular Imperial tank, or one with a coil gun.
The triple gun has 17 pdrs but with reduced power compared to the single barrel version on the Imperial (+2 vs +3), and there's a 10% chance of the guns jamming each turn. In 10 turns of firing the Kitchener should theoretically get off 27 shots at +2 power, and the Imperial would shoot 10 times at +3. An Imperial tank with a coil gun would at best fire 9 times out of 10 on average with +4 power, but would then have only a 70% chance of repairing the coil gun each turn once it had failed.
Cost-wise a Kitchener is only 28% more expensive than an Imperial tank so its 2.7x higher volume of fire seems an advantage, though the lower power reduces the chance of a hit damaging a tripod.

Like a mark III but with a quirk. But can use the mg concurrent with the triple barrel.

The chance of jamming is 30% if you fire all three guns

I missed that. That makes it less reliable and gives it only 21 shots per 10 turns on average vs 10 from an Imperial tank at slightly higher power.

Like a mark III but with a quirk. But can use the mg concurrent with the triple barrel. Thanks for pointing that out. The Kitchener is a poor choice compared to a Mk. III. The Mk. III has the same firepower, is not at risk of jamming and costs 75 pts. per tank versus 115. The only advantage the Kitchener has is being slightly faster (7" vs 6").
Being British technology it should be substantially better than the Mk. III according to the AD fluff.
The points for the Imperial tanks seem relatively OK at 90 per tank, with more power than a 4" tank gun and slightly higher speed but I think the Kitchener is significantly overpriced. You'd think AD would have given all of the BEF tanks a better defense value than the US steamer tanks due to their supposedly superior alloy hulls. 9 would have been more appropriate and more in line with their higher cost.

Yes I agree. It wasn't till the nonproduced Wosley (sp) that they went the other way with good armor And that fire suppression system. This idea might be a worth a 'change' for all the British tanks (not carriers) Change the British tanks to Armor 9??
