I recently ordered some human civilians, not realizing they were not the same as the human prey objective pieces. Currently bidding on some from the UK, but looks like it's going to go out of my price range. Does anyone have some suggestions for an alternative source for the fleeing civilians that my Martians can harvest or turn into lobototons? Thanks

Recommend Old Glorys 'Horror' tab - some of the figures are the same as ADs actually! With the Old Glory Army card discount ($50/year giving 40% off) you can acquire a nice amount for a small amount of money. Enjoy!

I checked it out and they look good Also i saw the Night Chicago Category on the same site tab They have 28 civilians from the roaring twenties They too look excelent I could see mixing the genres... A flood of refugees from cosmopolitan cities, to backwater towns less "sophisticated" in fashion

Good find. They're lovely miniatures.

Yes, I've been salting my miniatures with some of their other products. As I've done a KY state militia, there is of coarse the Hillbillies with Still...(15NCD-06). Their Deepest Darkest Africa line also has some interesting figures for cilivian style militia and other settings - see 15DDA-112, 117, 118, and 120. I particularly like those for the females with guns - pre 1st Sharpshooters from Ann Oakleys startup unit.

Unfortunately the miniatures you directed me to are very similar to the human civilians. The human prey are the figures fleeing in terror that get scooped up by the Martians as objectives and are on bases of three. While the figures I have can work, I kind of want the more thematic poses of people running for their lives. Here is hoping I can find something like the AD human prey

Yes, I hear you on that. Those were meant as alternatives - I still think you can use some of the horror line mentioned. I'll continue to check various sites I use for 'fleeing civilians' for us. The major problem is 1/scale 2/time period. Old Glory has some buggies and wagons also, but not sure how well they'd look. We'll keep looking, eh?

Desperation measure: Get one of the mold-making + acrylic resin sets (hobby and craft stores) and cast your own from the ones that you have already. The molds are usually silicone rubber and are re-usable for many castings. No IP issues if you cast them(1) for personal use and (2)DO NOT sell them.

The only ones I've seen were the fleeing figures and I've bought them under both titles.

They made the fleeing and a single coin (jun/jul) of a family. I believe there were two seperate types of fleeing released, an early one and a much later one. Not sure about it as I listed purchases a Civilians-2 without stock codes (I've tracked my buys with them). The code for one was US039. I could be wrong about the earlier one, as I don't have a listing of a second sku in my AQ notebook and the US039 came out about the same time as the US045 Marine Corps Landing Force. If you count the two automobiles, you'd have 3 or 4 difference styles of fleeing civilians.

The original is on the left, Human Prey, which has a limited mix of civilian fleeing. The pack on right are more like refugees. More variety of posses some with wheel barrows and push carts.

Looks like the labels should have been reversed as the "fleeing" figures seem to be strolling! I hadn't known there were 2 varieties.
Once again, like the 'Rager' figures, AD seems to have used already available Blue Moon figures. The "fleeing" civilians appear to be the Blue Moon Old West Townsfolk.

The set I ended up with is the one on the right with the 13 figures with individual bases, and I agree they look more like refugees then people running for their lives. I suppose I could always fashion larger bases and put them 3 or 4 to a base for Martian objectives, but they really lack the theatrics of fleeing from danger.

Thank you - I'd thought there were two sets and didn't have a notation for those in my little AQ notebook. I know I've got the boxset with those somewhere in my overgrowing batch of AQ stuff. Like the tag on those - will have to check out nobleknight.com for more figures
