terrace & everyone - any idea what the function of the 'gold' painted item just behind terrances siren is?? I note its also on mikedski model (not painted gold) as well. I take it, its part of the models casting. Just wondered - any ideas?

I paint mine copper. My theory they are exhaust ports.

I agree. My theory was they are part of the cooling system for the engine. I painted them gold or bronze because; well because I could I guess. But I could claim it is some sort of alloy that is particularly good at heat transfer.

Yes it is - I plan on doing lots of Antique Gold for Veteran Assault tripods as well other 'Terra' mix alloys. I'm sure the spare Gatherers are also used to get destroyed tripods of original Martian metals to further remake new machines and only use the 'Terra alloy' for new designs or other special machines.
