This is a shoutout to all those folks looking for good AQMF tentacles (especially loyalist). I was looking through Black Hats Cephalod line (EMP 800+). They have Civilians and Infantry with seperate tentacle sprues (3 per pack @3gbp/$5.50USD thru scalecreep (at about $1.83/GBP but figure thats including shipping from England). Their tentacles look really good and could be used for a number of things as well as the infantry guns, you could overlay the 'infantry' figure if you don't want it, to become a drone type figure with a new weapon. Hmmm Snipers drones come to mind. In anycase, have a look.

I had a look and think those tentacles are too short to be of much use for large tripods if the Cephalopod figures are about 18mm tall. They'd be good for making drones.

You can just say the tentacles are expandable and the short ones haven't extended yet .

Okay, just a thought - Chronos has the idea of it and those of us not as good in the modelling field are happy See Ironclad 39mm sized CEP01,02,03 for much longer tentacles loyalist. They look good. As an aside, I'd always wanted to do an underground battle - inspired by the Morloks snafu - especially with so many really nice figures out there to work with. I have several various underground tiles, both in paper and cast resin and there are several other companies that do really nice 'dungeon' and Syfy tiles and sets. I've come to the conclusion that its possible to do in 18mm with a mix of figures from Old Glory & Black Hat. Theres also the skirmish level game of 28mm from Ironclad, Black Hat, etc, with all those really nice figures (I like the Sanwar alot!). While daydreaming thru the Ironclad line, I found their Martian Cephalopods (CEP01,02,03). All of those figures are appoximately 39mm tall and "the forward tentacles need to be attached to the figure"! These might be long enough for you to use loyalist(?). I suppose its much cheaper to make your own though. I am encouraged by the range of figures (even got some clockwork troops ODD01) for an in the tunnels of a cyclinder skirmish game with the various Martians sans machines.
