I just saw a report on Peter Jackson's newest project - "They Shall Not Grow Old". It is a documentary that opens this weekend at limited theaters using WW1 footage totally repaired and colorized ! This is an amazing look any AQMF fan will want to see. The color highlights what appears to be a very balanced and thoughtful look into the men who fought the Great War, the color humanizing it so much, that you at times think its contemporary reporting. With help from the British WW 1 museum, he also included some 250 audio files, so that the haunting voices from the past drift throughout the film. I cannot recommend strongly enough what this work will impress upon those of us playing AQMF - a look and feel for the times of a human army during the period our game is set in. Hopefully, one of the networks will pick it up or at least it will become available on Netflex or other channel. I'll want to see it more than once.

Here's hoping on BBC America. If it makes it to the big screen anywhere near here, I'm for it. The only thing better than getting to see it, is to see it 'full sized' and better. What did you think about it Q?

What did you think about it Q? It is an excellent documentary, the colouring of the film really adds to the horror of the war. The spoken testimony of the soldiers throughout the film really makes it. Well worth watching.

I watched another documentary on Don McCullin on BBC4 this week which was very good. He has a reputation as a war photographer, one of the early ones when the press was independent . They is a good documentary about that on youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-r0IjB44KY&t=436s
