Thought you AQotMF'ers might want to see the Harvester I made a while back before the IG model came out. The only challenge I gave myself was that the parts had to come from the Kits available in the game. So as you can see its mostly parts off the black dust guns that are in the Assault Tripod kit. Of course I couldn't pass up a chance to add some gore and the next victim for the puree machine! What's great about the game is the ability to kit bash if you want to. Hope you enjoy!
Yep. I exchanged a Sweet Young Thing (SYT) for Farmer Freddie in the Harester kit. Cut the base off SYT and cut Freddie off the tentacle. Superglue SYT in the tentacle's grip and put Freddie going down the hatch--only his feet showing. Gotta love kit bashing!!
I suspect that part of the appeal is the struggle of a technically inferior culture (human) against an advanced one. They are implacable. They are almost unstoppable. And it is a struggle for species survival. Many primitives against the few super invaders. The Martians are not here for talk or fancy diplomacy. Dinner is served--as soon as they catch it..
The period setting is slightly post-Victorian so you get lots of steam tech with just a smidgeon of modernity. Colorful characters and a great mix of old and new. Warfare is driving technology among the prey creatures. Imagination can run wild. It is joyous mix for gaming.
There was no backdoor at the Alamo. Planet Earth doesn't have one either.
boxholder: I don't know. If this is supposed to be a chat-type thing, I don't see how it gets to that. There does not appear to be any way to tell someone that you are waiting or find someone on line. It takes a fortuitous discovery that both are on-site together.
