I love my Goliath model. Yes, being resin it needs trimming. The current ICG resin takes paint very well.
A rules question; actually I'd like to consolidate the past speculation: As a Machine, the Goliath does not benefit from a fuel truck or an ammo carrier. The only way to get a double fire or move is with an order. This is what I believe, anyway.

Interesting. The rule for the fuel states "steam-powered" so the Goliath does qualify for that. However, hardlec is correct that the ammo cart specifics tank or vehicle for its qualifier. Painful but true; no second shots for your Goliath.

I believe there was some discussion about "Machines" being able to purchase "extra ammo" but the cost was much higher than that of an ammo carrier.
As a one-shot-wonder, Goliath has a serious weakness. I have had several battles with Mk. IVs where their main guns never scored a hit.

Well, as in my book, the Goliaths are definitely long range fire support. If they get into a close range fight something has already gone wrong

park it on the table edge of your zone and blast away as your opponent desperately tries to close...

It would certainly be strange that Goliaths would not have some provision for ammunition reload or resupply. The WW-2 German SP 800 mm siege mortar "Morser Karl" had special transporters for the outsize shells that it fired. I could see a few (2 or3) spare rounds tied down on the deck as other SP artillery did. (Maybe a damage penalty if hit while these are out there.) Maybe the good folks at IG could develop a new "large shell" ammo carrier, along with the model, for the Goliath. This model could also serve as a restocker of Ironclads - perhaps as a new scenario whereas the IC doesn't have any 12" shells until say turn 3 or 4 when the ammo carrier finishes reloading the IC. A race for the Mars player to take out the 12" before it comes into play. :-)

In games as short as the typical AQMF game, 3-6 turns or so for me, the amount of ammo is not a real concern.
How about:
Special Ammo handling. 50 points. The (Human) machine may fire a main battery turret twice, at a single target. Roll two dice "to hit." If either die is a natural "1" the weapon is jammed and does not fire that turn. If both results are natural "1's" the weapon is severely jammed and may not fire until repaired. The owning player may attempt to repair the gun on each fire phase or any movement phase the machine does not move. The gun is repaired on the roll of a 7+.

The next time I play, I'll try Dominator vs Goliath. Not alone of course.
