Does anyone have a top-down picture of a crater they can (legally) share?

What kind? Explosive crater? meteor? volcano? And what kind of scale of disaster - bomb/shell, Vesuvius, dinosaur killer, extinction-level event?
Probably a goodly number of public domain images to find on one the search engines.

If you need some craters GW sells a set of 4 plastic craters that are ~4-5" in internal diameter and look OK with AQotMF models.

I am looking for a "shell hole" that I can print on clear plastic and use to mark areas plastered by artillery.

You can Google up "crater overhead' and go to the images tab. Lots of them there. Of course, you don't have to settle for a picture. Check out my post from 27 June 2016 in terrain. Using SCULTAMOLD, pre-mix papier mache, you can make any size, shape, etc in very little time and lots of them too. Pinch globs of the scultamold into the shape and height that you want. It adheres to itself. Let it dry, usually overnight. Just paint it a medium brown and then give it a wash of thin dark brown. Cheap acrylics from craft stores work well. The fibers in the Sculptamold make it light and pretty durable, kind of like re-bar. And it touches up easily if it chips

My paper mache recipe is toilet paper with the color of cheap acrylic paint I want.
I have searched a thousand images. I may need to make my own.

You go, guy!
Please pardon pun. Sometimes, I can't help myself.
In the time spent searching for photos, dozens of 3-D craters of various sizes and shapes can be made. Sometimes, the game is not worth the candle.

Acheson makes a variety of craters up to the 6" i use for the aftereffects of a tripod explosion. Any major battlefield that has been fought over (in front of a fortress town, for example) would have a number of the 6" (and smaller for drones) that might be empty from recovery of the destroyed machines. I like to have a few of the craters with spare bits from tripods scattered inside. Makes for good terrain and possible scenario objective as well.

I have a couple of sets of the Armorcast craters I use for tripods that exploded. See armorcast.com and follow the "environmental terrain" link. They are a set of 3 that are 6", 4", and 3" across. They are a little big (tall) for 15mm, but otherwise work fine.
