My inspiration for my California State Militia - The Los Angeles Rangers. While in "real life" they were the precursor for the local Law Enforcement agencies, in the AQMF timeline they used their tenacity, knowledge of the area, and skill to fight the Martians during the battles for the Los Angeles Region. The Los Angeles Rangers distinguished themselves on many occasions, even after taking heavy losses with their first skirmishes with the deadly Martian Tripods. They came to such attention of the War Department that several experimental weapons, including a formidable Mark IV Monitor Steamer was sent via steam ship and the Panama Canal to the Port of San Pedro to provide some much needed reinforcements. With the additional men and machines to stem the Martian tide, the Los Angeles Rangers have a renewed vigor! I hope to paint the first element as a test tonight... hopefully to have some pictures soon

I like them and the dry earth effect with the 2-tone grass clumps; are the clumps made by Silfor? I use Silfor grass clumps for nearly all my 15-18mm and 28mm bases but Antenociti's workshop in the UK, my main source, doesn't list it anymore.

Yep, that's a Silfor clumps set... Reminds me I need more! What's your source for Silfor. I'm running out and can no longer get them from my UK supplier. Haven't found a Canadian source.

Very nice background and workup. Strange to see the Montana hats on non-Marines - but, works for me! btw Michigan Toy Soldier cares Silfor as well.
