Beautiful and frightening as well!! Gads I'd hate to see that coming. Lets see (4) Slavers @100 ec = 400 points. (14) Drone Squads @60 ec = 840 points. All that coming in at 1240 points! Add a few support Assaults and maybe a Scout/Grenadier combo and you simply overwhelm the prey-that-stings at any point in the line. Awesome!! Keep tuned for the scenario! Hmmm Droning On sounds right. Hmm some Shock and Scorpion in there so will recalculate based on those - but love the 'speared' human prey! As usual, beautiful work Scott. Scorpion Squad @100, (2) Shock Squads @120. So only 40 more points than original calculation so: (10) Drone Squads, (2) Shock Squads, (2) Scorpion Squad @920 points. Total 1320 points plus add on. Nice! I'll work up a scenario in the OOB section tomorrow. Ty Scott, sooooo inspiring!

There are 2 units of Scorpion drones so add another 40 points.

Yes, two squads of Scorpions. I want to add 6 more drones (haven't decided on what type) so that each slaver will have 12 to command.
I've decided to organize my Martians into "Battlegroups". A battlegroup will have 6 assault tripods and three scout tripods, commanded by a Dominator.
So, assuming I give two of the Assault tripods a Black Dust Launcher and one of the Scouts a targeter, a battlegroup would cost 2,105 points,
Battlegroups will then have attached units of Grenadiers and Slavers depending on their specific mission. Right now I need to do six more assault tripods and two Dominators to have two battlegroups!

I've got 15 units of drones (1 of Sniper drones, 4 of Scorpion drones, 4 of Hover drones and 6 of regular drones) and 4 units of Lobototons. The plan is to have 4 units (12 elements) of drones/lobototons per controller tripod. For controllers I've got 3 Slavers, a Reaper and a Royal Scientist; I need another unit of Lobototons, most of which will be attached to the Royal Scientist.

I have 2 reapers and nine drones, not counting a set of rager drones. I haven't played with drones yet.
Scott: how do you mount LEDs in solid resin heads? There are plenty of sales on LED tea lights.

I use a power drill and lobotomize them! I just grind out a space in the head, coming in from the bottom and rear big enough for the battery pack and switch and then drill a hole through the 'eye' in the face that connects to the big hole inside. Mount the LED in the face and run the wires back to the battery pack. At first I though about providing a cover for the hole, but after assembling the slaver, you can't really see it from your normal viewing position, so I didn't bother.

I am going to try some experiments with "tea lights" or votives, which are LEDs and cheap. They use coin batteries and should occupy only a little space. I'll let you know how it works.
A cover would make it hard to change batteries and to access the on-off switch.
Perhaps IG would try to adapt the resin heads with voids to accommodate lights. Of course, that will also save on resin and make curing a bit easier.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

I saw these notes after I put the OOB together - I'll adjust and post it. I was close to your workup. I'll do another for the force you mention above. In addition, I suggest some Hover Drones for your additional six you plan.

So far I have a Reaper, 3 slavers, 2 units of sniper drones, 9 units of regular drones, and 5 units of scorpion drones. I need another Reaper and one more unit of scorpion drones. It looks like a mass of replicators from that stargate episode.

I'm not really sure what use hover drones would be unless you have some narrow impassible terrain (like a city wall, maybe). With the 12" command distance, the drones can't get far from the controller so it's not like you could send them across a wide swamp or something to get at the humans, because the controller can't follow. I do have 6 of them. Maybe I'll paint them up and see if they ever prove useful. ACTUALLY... I'm thinking that if the Martians get sufficiently annoyed by human aerial attacks, perhaps they would use hover drones in an anti-aircraft role. Sort of a cross between a barrage balloon, a flak gun, and a sniper drone. They just float around and automatically shoot at any aircraft that gets too close.
