I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I am again trying to find a workable solution for the small round based units like drones and HMG. I'm using glass moving boxes for tripods, and with some awkward wiggling the troops will fit in standard 28mm slots, but the drones are a nightmare, based on their dimensions and fragility. Pluck foam seems generally wasteful for those shapes, and I don't want to go with the expense of custom foam... So what are people doing?

I use shoeboxes with lots of loose bubble wrap.

I plan on contacting Battlefoam ( us.battlefoam.com) to see if they might be able to make a custom foam tray for me... Maybe ironcladgames can contact them to see if they would create a set of foam products for people like us. I know I'd buy them in a heartbeat if they did (I use their foam trays for all my Flames of War stuff).

I bought Fuzz Boxes. They work for the infantry stands MG stands rough riders and most of the drones. You have to snip out some dividers to make bigger slots, but the height is fine. I have to travel this week. When I get home I'll post a picture.

The other nice think about the Fuzz Boxes is they fit nicely in the glass moving boxes. I cut down the height of the dividers to fit the tripods which leave space at the top for more storage.

I think the idea of IG making transport boxes (or contracting them out) would be an excellent idea. Most folks on the forum have lots of tripods and drones (as well as human stuff) already - but their transport systems are lacking. Mine certainly is.

I'm torn with pluck foam, while it suits your needs, I find that it allow models to float too much. That's why I suggested BattleFoam - I've yet to have any damaged models with that case, whereas my pluck foam case, I'm having to fix stuff at least once a month. As Borat would say "I want a tray that holds my miniatures tight like a mans ah-nus... not like sleeve of wizard." If you could come up with a tray design that fits the bases tightly without damaging the models, I'd buy it...

I like those bags; of you could may trays that had precut rounds for fitting drones and HMGs, that would be perfect. I'm not a big battlefoam fan.

Fuzz Box is a brand name for figure storage boxes. They are cardboard with foam inserts. I'll let someone else handle GPS bags.

Here are a couple of pics of the Fuzz Box storage of AQ figures. Infantry, rough riders and MGs in a box. Box fits in a glass moving box with tripods standing in the dividers underneath.

I remember seeing someone who was moving tripods in plastic storage boxes with the bases magnetised and a metal sheet glued to the storage box.

I'm biased, since I designed and made these bags and trays: gameplusproducts.com/product-category/bags-and-cases/
I'll probably do licensed GPS Bags at some point, they're in house.
GPS=Game Plus Products.
