With the kids out with their Grandma tomorrow and the weather being terrible the wife and I should get a game in. She will be the martians of course, while I am Canadian and BEF Martian Forces (Chosen by my Wife's method of Ooo I like that model) Harvester Assault with Black Dust 2 x Assault Scout Veteran Reaper Slaver 2 x Slicers Scorpion Drones Canadian Forces MKIII Unit MKII Artillery Unit MKIIIm MKIIc Field Gun Unit 3 x Infantry Squads Tommy Tank Unit BEF Field Gun Unit Coil Gun Mono tank Unit Kitchener Unit Started to layout the table but the miniatures have not been properly deployed yet.

Whoever owns that farm is also royally screwed. That and the adjoining terrain are going to be the first obstacles to slow the advance and artillery is going to have to bear down on the advance. Property values there will probably tank.
Which brings to mind a question: Is there provision for barrage fire that misses the target? There should be lots of collateral damage, not just to the intended target. All those shells gotta come down someplace. I need to recheck the rules-is there a "scatter" mechanic for barrages? Even if the target is hit, shouldn't everything else under the template suffer damage? Will post to madmorgan, too.
I would think that the front terrain barrier (hill-farm-forest-fields) should be heavily mined/trapped or else those tripods will be across that and running in an the open field. Some forlorn hope troops in the covered areas could also make Martian life interesting.

The game is still setup and waiting to be played. Major work on my old car has taken up my time as well as family stuff. Looks like it will be holiday time before I get chance to play this game. Hopefully will be able to get a couple of games in then

No, scatter rules (though more realistic) were left completely out of AQMF - probably to keep it simple, which I support. Of coarse, due post your ideas as a alternative rule is always welcomed - especially for a optional rule

what is a Mark IIIm ?? Your wife is fielding 1595 points, counting an FC. You've got 1475 plus whatever the Mk IIIm comes to and another 30 for the FC, so 1505 plus the Mk IIIm.

Finally got round to playing this game TURN 1 Turn 1 Humans win Initiative Most Vehicles are Moved forward. Artillery shoot at Scout and hit. Get an 8 on the Tripod damage table then another 8 to reduce it armour to 2 Turn 1 Martians moves forward TURN 2
Turn 2 Humans win initiative All Canadians in range fire at Harvester getting a hit and a 10 on the Tripod damage table and explodes. This hits the Black dust assault tripod getting 10 on its roll which explodes. This them hits another assault tripod getting 10 on its roll exploding. This takes out two scorpion drones and cripples the reaper so we have to roll to see who gets to move it. All BEF in range fire at the Scout tripod and destroy it. Turn 2 Martians All move forward and an assault manages to kill two stands of humans. Humans win the roll to move the reaper and move it off the board. TURN 3
Turn 3 Humans win Initiative All Artillery opens up on Veteran and destroy it. Canadian tanks destroy 1 element of Lobotons. At this point the game is really over as the Martians have been nearly completely destroyed. That will teach them for bunching up!

That was a heck of a second turn for the humans!! Keep those dice hidden someplace special and only pull them out when you're really desperate. Preferably in a flame proof container--they are too hot! Of course, with my luck they have expended their lifetime supply of 10's.
