Okay this is a bit crazy (madmorgan remember) but I found the weird listing on brigademodels.co.uk site - a 2mm 'Land Ironclads' battle game set in 1/1200 - 2mm scale! Besides having its own ruleset, various infantry and 'ironclad' tanks/vehicles its got Martian stuff! Specifically the following:
Tripod Walker AQMF workup : (Assault) Spd 8" Def 6 Arm 11 Spec: Tripod Damage Table. Heavy Heat Ray Rng 30" +4Pow RF1 Spec: Sweep @-2Pow
Quad Walker AQMF workup with Black Dust weapon: (Scout) Spd 10" Def 6 Arm 10 Spec: TDmg Table. Black Dust Rng 10" +4Pow RF 1 Spec: AoE 4"
Catcher Walker AQMF workup: (Harvester) Spd 6" Def 6 Arm 10 Spec: only two reaper claws. Reaper Claw (2) Assault +5Pow
Armor Infantry AQMF workup: ("Drones") Spd 6" Def 6 Arm 7 Spec: powerarmored martians. Light Heat Ray Rng 10" +2Pow RF 1 Spec: no Sweep
Flyer @200 (-) Spd 8" Def 7 Arm 10 Spec: Hover, not effected by Difficult terrain. Medium Heat Ray Rng 20" +3Pow RF 1 Spec: Sweep @-2Pow
Cyclinder AQMF workup: as per book, Spd n/a Def 2 Arm 14
They have an Alien Invasion Stater pack (with rules) @30gbp (about $45 current exchange is less) include 12 40mm sq and 4 40x30mm bases and 12 dice and multiples of both human and Martian forces. Human forces besides the 'ironclads' (which are only available in the starter btw) include infantry for Britain, USA, France, German, Russian, Austrian and some Belgian " Contraptions" sorta armored cavalry style tank and gun combos. Theres also national themed "Contraptions which give you various tanks and other vehicles and even some armored infantry battalion (with transport) an a single Austrailian ship! Theres also Generic Infantry and Generic Skirmishers. At this scale the infantry are really not much to look at, but the various nations have different formation sizes. Example the Russians pack has 15 companies with 4 strips of infantry per base and 2 bases = 1 company. They have a total of 96 figures perpack as well as 24 skirmishers at about $23.35.The French have 3 battalions ec of 4 companies with 4 strips/base, 2 bases per company. They have 96 figures at about $18.45 a pack.
In anycase I could see for less than $100, you could do really briefcase style demos to get people interested in AQMF rules and ideas with a small board (2x2' or the excellent 3x3' Cigarbox terrain mats) and easily worked terrain. The whole thing is light enough, you could use formcore board instead of styrofoam for the 2'x2' (or whatever craft size you find in local store). As an aside, Paperterrain makes a full range of 3mm items, so you could really put on a nice in-store or home display. With individual purchases (vs starter or battalion packs) carefully, you could get a nice less expensive work up for this purpose.
This is an exciting thing for me as transporting my figures to the mercies of a bunch of strangers can be hard on the figures, whether by the transport or the players. So now I pack it up easy and can show the folks a 'miniature' verison of AQMF without all the stress of possible damage of your hard worked models. Once it catches on - and it will - you bring on the full sized stuff to the eager parties. See my list of scenarios under the Battle Report threads. Good stuff. Cheers!

Yep just discovered my mistake and fixing it. I want to note that all the starter packs (there were 5) are Out of Stock. But, the Army Packs meet your needs and they've conveniently included conversion to $US with each pack. So, a recap with the product is in order. Unfortunately their Land Ironclads rulebook is out of stock as well (individual book), but we don't need that do we? Just take you small starterbox rulebook in the briefcase & you're all good. VLIP-104 @ $19.26 British Contraption Battalion : (24) Mk I Armored Gun Carriers (24) Mk II Tank (12) Mk IV Rocket Conveyor (15) 40x30mm bases. Note that they base 4 vehicles to a base. The Mk I are sponson only tanks (like a IIb rare), the Mk II are turreted gunned tanks (i can't tell if they've sponsons also), the Mk IV are sponsons with a rocket rack on top. VLIP-105 @ $16.30 British Armored Infantry Battalion: (32) Line Infantry (32) Mk III Armored Infantry Carrier (no guns) (8) 40x30mm bases (8) 40x20bases (for dismounted Line Infantry, see next) VLIP-106 @ $12.23 British Line Infantry of (2) Battalions ec of (8) Companies of 4 Strips per base each strip has 14 figures! (16) 40x20mm bases for a total of 64 line infantry figures. These are really little blob like figures, but with 14 per strip, its easy to do the math to get our 'standard' 10 figure squad, just use a single strip per squad. As the rules show the stats for weapons (example 1/2 pdr coilgun), you don't have to do much. VLIP-204 @ $15.56 USA Contraption Battalion (unfortunately no pictures): (36) Armored Cavalry Wagon (12) War Rocket Launcher (12) 40x30mm bases VLIP-206 @ $9.26 USA Line Infantry Battalion (no pics): (3) Battalions ec of (4) Companies of 4 Strips per base (12) 40x20mm bases VLIP-9001 @ $53.35 Olympian Army Pack: (9) Tripods (3) Quads (3) Catchers (3) Flying Machines (4) Crashed Alien Spaceship (=cyclinders) (12) 40x40mm bases (3) 40x30mm bases (3) Clear Plastic Flying Stand (for Hovers) They have German, French, Austrian stuff - better mix might be to use their smaller packs to narrow down you purchase - these are under the individual nation tabs and Do have pics of the USA. The even have an Australian Monitor (riverine time!) VLIP-9099 @ $4.45 (2) Crashed Alien Spaceships (these are cyclinder on cast base). VLIP-9090 @ $1.48 (1) Flying Machine (AMQF Hover Drone) no base provided for the singles - see next AC-001 @ $2.22 (10) Clear Plastic Bases AC-022 @ $2.96 (4) Double-dice Flying Stand (black) - has slots on either side of post for small dice to fit in for tracking whatever (probably 12mm die?). Works well for the below Aeronef lines main Digs and Nefs. VLI-180 @ $4.45 (1) Cerberus Battleship, (Austrailian) recommends 40x60mm base which barely covers both fore & aft. The base is sold seperately (Accessory button). Two turrets with main gun (guns) of probably 9.2" Howitzers (commonly used and liked early on in preference to the 12" guns) and a few other guns - can't tell from the picture). I'd 'fluff' it as one of several escaped vessals from the fall of Australia. I also found the 1/1200 Aeronef line of ships. The rules are out-of-print but available as pdfs if you want to play their game, set in an alternative 19th Century world with 'flying' navies etc. The figures include very cool set of flags of all sorts of nations, based on the 19th century, Digs (dirigibles) of all kinds (read Zeppelins in 1/1200!), and aircraft from all the powers (again cheap 1/1200 planes if you don't want the detail of a 1:144 aircraft - these kinda work as markers in my mind and you get enough variety and numbers to make any one pack an 'instance' airforce for AQMF. I really like the fact that even the Digs (Dirigibles) have smoke stacks, giving them the AQ feel. They also are all having their payloads on the bottom of the ballon, making them look even more AQMF vs IRL. The Nef accessories include things like deck cranes, space masts and funnels, and of coarse guns in turrets and barrettes. All you need do is a quick paint job, slap a flag on, and stat them up for the game. As the scale is the same as the above Cerberus Battleship, you could convert several of those using the accessories. And yes they have seaplanes and even a seaplane tender I also noted numerous Small Scale Buildings for those of you not using Paper Terrain and they also have a nice line of 15mm Sci-Fi, with buildings and accessorys (like the various gun mounts including a tribarrel gatling !) with containers, weapons, etc. make for a really nice line. Once again, I'm jealous of our British players with easy access to so much cool product. Enjoy.

Brigade are a great company, and Tony is a fantastic guy, he's helped me out loads of times when I've been looking for something for a model. However that said, be very careful when using their 15mm stuff for AQMF, it is true scale and looks very small and odd compared AQMF models.
That said the accessories they do for their 15mm, such as their sci-fi vehicle stowage and vehicle fuel tanks are fantastic, some of my BEF units have them and they work well. However the Gatling Turret that is in the accessory section, is tiny and I really mean tiny. I got a pack to see what they were like, I cannot stress enough how small they are. They're smaller than the HMGs on the plastic steamer sprue.

Interesting and thank you for the heads up. That thin gatling turret might work of a 1/2pdr coilgun?? Anywho, guess they fall into 'true 15mm' armies with the likes of FoW, PeterPig, et al. Someday I'll launch into that scale as well for the humans, as these companies work some really hard to find figures and period pieces. I'll definately look into the sci-fi accessories on your recommendation, as they looked great for popping and 'fluff' appeal.

Great news ! Check out picoarmor.com for the Brigade Models Small Scale line of buildings and fortifications line. Also check out the pico terrain, with the trenchs and the tree line as well as the train tracks and even a Polish armored train set ! Good stuff, cheap for your 2mm AQMF demo kit.

Don't you hate it when you 'quote' the wrong line and then get stuck in its text box...lol TY for the heads up and maybe they can be kinda experimental 1/4pdr coil - or an entire new type of rapid fire MG, say Rng 15" -Pow RF 4 Spec: May target two units. Or maybe RF6, with a "1" locking it up for a fire phase as it cools back down. LOL.

Further thought on the 'full size' hover from these - its probably time for a higher altitude 'tripod' flyer. I purpose a 'Flying Machine' like the Construction Machine. Will work on some stats later, but, will be able to intercept aircraft making Assault runs (no higher than just above tripod level) with probably the equal of (2) medium heatrays. Need to consider how these work vs ground targets as well. These thing would be hell on the human naval/riverine vessals as they could actually get to the offshore vessals. Will need to limit the number of these new flyers as well.

They don't have any rule books in stock ATM, tony is going to get in touch with Wessex games to see what the score is. However you can download it as a PDF although I am loathe to pay for data when it's the same price and would also prefer a hard copy.

Peter Pig has a very large line of 1/600 ships and shore fixtures for gaming in small mm. See their '7' line. The onshore stuff looks good for use in the 2 or 3mm scale, although listed as 1/600. Has harbor buildings, towns, guns, wagons, all sorts of stuff for my idea on 2mm AQ demo games. Will be looking at these more. The ships are not too expensive, but a bit rough compared to Old Glorys fine 1/600 Ironclads and the top-of-the look Thoroughbred Figures 1/600 line.

Paper Shipwrights has several useful models in 1:250 scale. Paper models scales can be changed with a photocopier.
