Hmmm, got to thinking about telephone poles in general - wonder if Scotts ever thought of making paper versions?? Just a tunk.

BTW, Peter Pig does some great telephone poles under their accessories line (21-). Available from Brookhurst, these are French poles, which are made of metal with built in hand holds to climb. They look nice, a pack of 10 is cheap, set in 15 mm scale, they'll be just right for height a wire setup and being obviously metal, can have a higher armor rating than wood. Check them out a brookhursthobbies.com. How do Peter Pig 15mm figures compare to AQMF figures? Heroic 15 (18mm) or more puny human 15mm?

Drat. I was looking at some of their old west figures for armed civilians.

Yes they are 'thin' 15s, but a huge range of figures with plenty to make an all 15 human army or two. And the above mentioned telephone poles are 'short' enough to work for the Edison Wire ideas. I got some Mexicans recently along with some resin and a patrol boat. Good casting and the resin was very sharp - all these for my Pedro Papers OOB. I plan to do more armies from their line.

I saw the telephone poles. They do look like they would work.

Yes, I've yet to get them, but based on the scale, they seem to be 'lower' in height due to being 15 mm. That said, I'll report on the actual height once I get my latest order in from Brookhurst (can you say Armored Train! and Naval figures for my new picket ship).

Those are the ones I've got on order - they look really great for the purpose. Note that I've purposed additionally three separate forces from their line in my TO&Es for the 'religious' armies. I've not purchased them yet, but will get them and paint them up in the future.

Forgive my ignorance,
I am looking at using skewers to make power poles and Edison wires. That lengths/height do people here recommend?
Thanks,
Craig

Thanks, Craig I didn't have a standard fixed measurement other than the various tripods cannot step over it and human infantry and smaller vehicles and pass underneath. But then you can make any which way in the sense it's a unique terrain marker with establishes rules and less "What you see is what you get".

There are also the Conqueror Martian Fences that look really great. I was thinking of looking at various hobby store and other outlets for similar 'glowing' pieces to use as wires. Also am examining those bright pipe cleaners in the craft section - all a crackle with energy lol.

Edison wires will be improvised on the battlefield. They will probably be about 20 to 30 feet above the ground, or 2.5 to 3.5 inches in scale. Some will look like finished telephone poles, some will be very crude. Clear seed beads held to a skewer with a cut down straight pin can work.

I'd think there would be some 'ground' versions as well, to counter for a time some drones/lobos. These would be straight pin stuck into the terrain with a wire wrapped around the pin with a seed bead pushed up from the bottom below the wrapped wire on the pin. Perhaps not, as I could envision these being quickly overwhelmed by a pile-on of Lobos. Good thoughts folks - good stuff.
