I bought a Dominator tripod at gencon and when I went to put it together today I found three issues. One is with the body, and two with the heat ray arms. The arms are both right arms. There is no left arm. When you put the second right are where the left arm should go, it looks dodgy. Just doesn't look right. The other problem with the arms is that they are the normal assault tripod arms that slot into the head. The Dominator head has circular holes, not slots. You will have to cut off the part of the arm that slots in, otherwise it won't fit. The body problem is where the leg assembly join the resin body piece. The leg assembly is the plastic assault tripod one, and has the thin narrow piece sticking up. The plastic body piece has a slot that it fits in. The resin Dominator body is solid with no slot. You will probably have to cut the thin piece off to make it flat and hope it doesn't slide all over when gluing it to the resin piece. I decided not to mess it for now. Is anyone else having these issues??

The Dominator looks very much like a prototype of a model rather than a finished product. It should come with a warning that moderate modeling skills are needed.

It seem to me the best way to handle the heat ray situation is to cut off the hand and the heat ray from a right-handed arm and cut the hand off a spare left-handed arm (you ought to have one if you built any of the assault tripods with the black dust projector) and glue the hand and heat ray to it. A little work and it ought to look okay. As for the plastic-resin body joint, you should probably drill holes and insert a metal pin for strength.

I have spare left arms. That was the plan. Since the plastic leg assembly is hollow,I don't know if a pin will work.

The Dominator is chief among my plans for a resculpt. Right now the model is as it was intended. I will likely cast new arms and make those available, asap. I of course will let you all know when ready.
Finally we are moving as fast as possible. I want assembly guides with each model. Baby-steps for us, for now.

I assembled a couple of Dominators by clipping the tabs off. I just clipped at angles that made sense for the side. I can try to post some pics on here for that process. I didn't pin mine.

Hey Everybody, Here are some metal arms for the Dominator, both right and left. These are going into production and will be in all future kits. If you bought one from us already, once I have them in stock, I'll send you a set. Please spread the word and have folks contact me on Quietmartianfront.com or in the official forums on AQMF, so I can keep track of everyone. Sorry for the change-up, but the fix was necessary, after seeing what you awesome people were going through in assembling the model (I assembled a couple myself). Then he said, "Let there be Domination; and there was Domination." And it was good.

I already put mine together with the plastic arm mod described in this forum. The torso is really what needs work. It needs more details and add the notch, As long as you are Re-sculpting, I would make the head a bit wider.
