Nice. I like the various Litko bases as an alternative to the rather expensive GW, but what ever floats your Hovers. In truth, flight bases are often expensive in any format that acrylic or plastic. Vs the provided stand that is.

And all those tripods that mysteriously did not come with bases. I used the large oval bases that came with the US Army HQ as an alternate harvester base. I used spare tripod bases that came on the plastic sprues for reapers, slavers, grenadiers.

So the discussion about bases brings up a good point: what do you all prefer? We are getting low on the existing stock of Renedra's bases and I was thinking of switching to other options (perhaps laser cut wood, acrylic, etc.) over potentially ordering again from a third-party. I'd like to hear from all of you though, on your preferences.

I prefer the renedra bases but as I live in the UK I can easily order them here. I'm not keen on the wooden laser cut bases

I prefer Renedra bases - I never use wood as it can warp. When I don't have Renedra bases on hand I make them from 1.5mm thick sheet styrene, which is the same thickness.

I don't have strong preferences either way. I have used both plastic and wooden bases for various games over the years. For 15mm I like the thin bases and plastic is probably better. With wooden bases that thin there is a slight risk for warping if you get a lot of water on them when putting scenery on the base. Although I cannot recall actually having that happen. Still, I vote for plastic.

Whilst I would happily use either, wood just does not seem like a reliable material for this. Yes its sturdy but the chance of warping is a little too present for my liking. Plastic gets my vote.

I like the renedra bases to be honest. I'd much rather plastic over wooden bases.

Well, all of the above bring up good points about the plastic vs wood idea. Frankly, I've never had a wood base warp and I've got fantasy figures going back a good 40 years. But, then I'm mad crazy - so I'll go with the flow. I'll continue to base most of my infantry & cavalry & command figures on wood 20 x 20 mm, 40 x 20 mm, and 40 x 40 mm (MG) as that makes them more flexible for buildings and trenches. Oh btw - MBA has a new direct sale item (I'll post this in suppliers as well); DIR-077 Medical Tent (28 mm). It looks great and can easily be used in AQ - its 6"long x 4" wide x 2" tall (150 mm x 100 mm x 50 mm approximately), giving a great place for hidden troops (4"/100 mm+ wide), as much as a platoon with that length! (each squad of 60 mm width x 3 + mg squad of 20 mm width fits the dimensions). Note that it is a solid piece so you need to use a blip marker for it with the figures off table.

Never had a wood base under 8cm warp. Mind you a lot of us in UK use MDF which I believe is not available in USA. I'll us plastic if I have to, but tend to use coins or MDF.

MDF is available in Canada but from my experience it can warp badly if it hasn't been sealed and gets wet. Granted Ive used it for large scenic bases, not figure bases.
