Do you think a 1/72 version would be too small

I can't find one. It seems the T28 and other similar 'irregular' tanks aren't all that popular with manafacturers as they don't generate enough interest.
Trenchworx use 3D printing which I guess saves on the usual molds and associated costs.
Their T28 is $38 plus $15 flat international shipping - about £37.50 total.

1/72 might not be big enough for the 2 x tri-barrel housings. 1/72 T28's aren't that easy to come by either.

The more I think about the more I'm drawn to this. Modelling would be pretty easy I think but I would need to find some useable tank hatches. Anything up to 1/72 should do it. Not sure if anyone makes them as parts though.

Zvezda used to do both the T-28 and the T-35 (the T-35 is the one I did the Wolsely on). The T-28 had 3 turrets, the T-35 had 5! TY for the Trenchworx reminder! I usually think of them in the 'turret' catagory, their FT-17 extra turrets make great AQ ground or wall turrets, being 1/56 (28mm) size. I do like the longer main gun - so I'll work up stats for the 'T-28' style Wolsely with three turrets vs the original five and we be rocking! I don't think I can afford more than one, but as its a 'command' tank/flagship tank for the unit, its all good. Excellent idea that.

That's what I'm thinking of. My plan would be to use the 2 smaller turrets to house the trip-barrels and add some sponsons to the boxes on the side of the tank for the MG's.

Looking at them I think the 1/56 would be the right size for the Wolsely so looks like it will have to be Trenchworx. I can find 1/72 and 1/35 T-28 and 1/100, 1/72 and 1/35 T-35 on eBay uk but they are all the wrong size!

I've bitten the bullet and ordered one. The lack of symmetry in the T35 didn't do it for me and the T28 looks like an Imperial on steroids... just right!

Are you going to use plastic tube for the trip barrels? I have some evergreen 3/32" tube which is about a good match for the kitchener barrel

Exactly that. I'll model them pretty much as per the Kitchener's. I have some sponsons from. MK III Steamer that I'll modify for the MGs.
Pics will follow.

Zveda makes a beautiful 1/100 T-35. I've got some. I also like their 1/100 Matilda I.

Nice! What length are the 1/100 tanks there?

Nice! What length are the 1/100 tanks there? The T-35's are 95mm long and the Matilda's are 46mm

Holy crap! The 1/56 is going to be massive. The Tripods need to worry.
